תהילים 41-50

לַמְנַצֵּחַ מִזְמוֹר לְדָוִד׃

Lamnatzei'ach mizmor leDavid.

For the leader. A psalm of David.

אַשְׁרֵי מַשְׂכִּיל אֶל־דָּל בְּיוֹם רָעָה יְמַלְּטֵהוּ יְהוָה׃

Ashrei maskil el dal, beyom ra'a yemaltehu Adonai.

Happy is he who is thoughtful of the wretched; in bad times may the LORD keep him from harm.

יְהוָה יִשְׁמְרֵהוּ וִיחַיֵּהוּ וְאֻשַּׁר בָּאָרֶץ וְאַל־תִּתְּנֵהוּ בְּנֶפֶשׁ אֹיְבָיו׃

Adonai yishmerehu vichayehu ve'ushar ba'aretz, ve'al titnehu benefesh oyvav.

May the LORD guard him and preserve him; and may he be thought happy in the land. Do not subject him to the will of his foes.

יְהוָה יִסְעָדֶנּוּ עַל־עֶרֶשׂ דְּוָי כָּל־מִשְׁכָּבוֹ הָפַכְתָּ בְחָלְיוֹ׃

Adonai yis'adenu al eres devai, kol mishkavo hafachta vecholyo.

The LORD will sustain him on his sickbed; You shall wholly transform his bed of suffering.

אֲנִי־אָמַרְתִּי יְהוָה חָנֵּנִי רְפָאָה נַפְשִׁי כִּי־חָטָאתִי לָךְ׃

Ani amarti Adonai choneni, refa'a nafshi ki chatati lach.

I said, "O LORD, have mercy on me, heal me, for I have sinned against You."

אוֹיְבַי יֹאמְרוּ רַע לִי מָתַי יָמוּת וְאָבַד שְׁמוֹ׃

Oyvai yomru ra li, matai yamut ve'avad shemo.

My enemies speak evilly of me, "When will he die and his name perish?"

וְאִם־בָּא לִרְאוֹת שָׁוְא יְדַבֵּר לִבּוֹ יִקְבָּץ־אָוֶן לוֹ יֵצֵא לַחוּץ יְדַבֵּר׃

Ve'im ba lir'ot shav yedaber, libo yikbatz aven lo, yetze lachuts yedaber.

If one comes to visit, he speaks falsely; his mind stores up evil thoughts; once outside, he speaks [them].

יַחַד עָלַי יִתְלַחֲשׁוּ כָּל־שֹׂנְאָי עָלַי יַחְשְׁבוּ רָעָה לִי׃

Yachad alai yitlachashu kol son'ai, alai yachshvu ra'a li.

All my enemies whisper together against me, imagining the worst for me.

דְּבַר־בְּלִיַּעַל יָצוּק בּוֹ וַאֲשֶׁר שָׁכַב לֹא־יוֹסִיף לָקוּם׃

Devar beliya'al yatzuk bo, va'asher shachav lo yosif lakum.

"Something baneful has settled in him; he'll not rise from his bed again."

גַּם־אִישׁ שְׁלוֹמִי אֲשֶׁר־בָּטַחְתִּי בוֹ אוֹכֵל לַחְמִי הִגְדִּיל עָלַי עָקֵב׃

Gam ish shelomi asher batachti vo, ochel lachmi higdil alai akev.

My ally in whom I trusted, even he who shares my bread, has been utterly false to me.

וְאַתָּה יְהוָה חָנֵּנִי וַהֲקִימֵנִי וַאֲשַׁלְּמָה לָהֶם׃

Ve'ata Adonai choneni vahakimeni, va'ashalma lahem.

But You, O LORD, have mercy on me; let me rise again and repay them.

בְּזֹאת יָדַעְתִּי כִּי־חָפַצְתָּ בִּי כִּי לֹא־יָרִיעַ אֹיְבִי עָלָי׃

Bezot yadati ki chafatzta bi, ki lo yari'a oyvi alai.

Then shall I know that You are pleased with me: when my enemy cannot shout in triumph over me.

וַאֲנִי בְּתֻמִּי תָּמַכְתָּ בִּי וַתַּצִּיבֵנִי לְפָנֶיךָ לְעוֹלָם׃

Va'ani betumi tamachta bi, vatatzveni lefanecha le'olam.

You will support me because of my integrity, and let me abide in Your presence forever.

בָּרוּךְ יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל מֵהָעוֹלָם וְעַד הָעוֹלָם אָמֵן וְאָמֵן׃

Baruch Adonai Elohei Yisrael, meha'olam ve'ad ha'olam, amen ve'amen.

Blessed is the LORD, God of Israel, from eternity to eternity. Amen and Amen.

לַמְנַצֵּחַ מַשְׂכִּיל לִבְנֵי־קֹרַח׃

Lamnatzei'ach maskil livnei Korach.

For the leader. A maskil of the Korahites.

כְּאַיָּל תַּעֲרֹג עַל־אֲפִיקֵי־מָיִם כֵּן נַפְשִׁי תַעֲרֹג אֵלֶיךָ אֱלֹהִים׃

Ke'ayal ta'arog al afikei mayim, ken nafshi ta'arog elecha Elohim.

Like a hind crying for water, my soul cries for You, O God;

צָמְאָה נַפְשִׁי לֵאלֹהִים לְאֵל חָי מָתַי אָבוֹא וְאֵרָאֶה פְּנֵי אֱלֹהִים׃

Tzam'a nafshi lElohim le'El chai, matai avo ve'era'e penei Elohim.

my soul thirsts for God, the living God; O when will I come to appear before God!

הָיְתָה־לִּי דִמְעָתִי לֶחֶם יוֹמָם וָלָיְלָה בֶּאֱמֹר אֵלַי כָּל־הַיּוֹם אַיֵּה אֱלֹהֶיךָ׃

Hayeta li dim'ati lechem yomam valayla, be'emor elai kol hayom ayeh Elohecha.

My tears have been my food day and night; I am ever taunted with, "Where is your God?"

אֵלֶּה אֶזְכְּרָה וְאֶשְׁפְּכָה עָלַי נַפְשִׁי כִּי אֶעֱבֹר בַּסָּךְ אֶדַּדֵּם עַד־בֵּית אֱלֹהִים בְּקוֹל־רִנָּה וְתוֹדָה הָמוֹן חוֹגֵג׃

Ele ezkera ve'eshpecha alai nafshi, ki e'evor basach edadem ad beit Elohim, bekol rina vetoda hamon chogeg.

When I think of this, I pour out my soul: how I walked with the crowd, moved with them, the festive throng, to the House of God with joyous shouts of praise.

מַה־תִּשְׁתּוֹחֲחִי נַפְשִׁי וַתֶּהֱמִי עָלָי הוֹחִילִי לֵאלֹהִים כִּי־עוֹד אוֹדֶנּוּ יְשׁוּעוֹת פָּנָיו׃

Ma tishtochachi nafshi vatehemi alai, hochili lElohim ki od odenu yeshu'ot panav.

Why so downcast, my soul, why disquieted within me? Have hope in God; I will yet praise Him for His saving presence.

אֱלֹהַי עָלַי נַפְשִׁי תִשְׁתּוֹחָח עַל־כֵּן אֶזְכָּרְךָ מֵאֶרֶץ יַרְדֵּן וְחֶרְמוֹנִים מֵהַר מִצְעָר׃

Elohai alai nafshi tishtochach, al ken ezkarcha me'eretz Yarden vechermonim mehar mitz'ar.

O my God, my soul is downcast; therefore I think of You in this land of Jordan and Hermon, in Mount Mizar,

תְּהוֹם־אֶל־תְּהוֹם קוֹרֵא לְקוֹל צִנּוֹרֶיךָ כָּל־מִשְׁבָּרֶיךָ וְגַלֶּיךָ עָלַי עָבָרוּ׃

Tehom el tehom kore lekol tzinoreicha, kol mishbarecha vegaleicha alai avaru.

where deep calls to deep in the roar of Your cataracts; all Your breakers and billows have swept over me.

יוֹמָם יְצַוֶּה יְהוָה חַסְדּוֹ וּבַלַּיְלָה שִׁירֹה עִמִּי תְּפִלָּה לְאֵל חַיָּי׃

Yomam yetzave Adonai chasdo, uvalayla shiro imi tefila le'El chayai.

By day may the LORD command His loving care, so that at night a song to Him may be with me, a prayer to the God of my life.

אוֹמְרָה לְאֵל סַלְעִי לָמָה שְׁכַחְתָּנִי לָמָּה־קֹדֵר אֵלֵךְ בְּלַחַץ אוֹיֵב׃

Omra le'El sal'i lama shechachtani, lama koder elech belachatz oyev.

I say to God, my rock, "Why have You forgotten me, why must I walk in gloom, oppressed by my enemy?"

בְּרֶצַח בְּעַצְמוֹתַי חֵרְפוּנִי צוֹרְרָי בְּאָמְרָם אֵלַי כָּל־הַיּוֹם אַיֵּה אֱלֹהֶיךָ׃

Beretzach be'atzmotai cherfuni tzorerai, be'omram elai kol hayom ayeh Elohecha.

Crushing my bones, my foes revile me, taunting me always with, "Where is your God?"

מַה־תִּשְׁתּוֹחֲחִי נַפְשִׁי וּמַה־תֶּהֱמִי עָלָי הוֹחִילִי לֵאלֹהִים כִּי־עוֹד אוֹדֶנּוּ יְשׁוּעֹת פָּנַי וֵאלֹהָי׃

Ma tishtochachi nafshi uma tehemi alai, hochili lElohim ki od odenu yeshu'ot panai vElohai.

Why so downcast, my soul, why disquieted within me? Have hope in God; I will yet praise Him, my ever-present help, my God.

שָׁפְטֵנִי אֱלֹהִים וְרִיבָה רִיבִי מִגּוֹי לֹא־חָסִיד מֵאִישׁ־מִרְמָה וְעַוְלָה תְפַלְּטֵנִי׃

Shofteni Elohim veriva rivi migoy lo chasid, me'ish mirma ve'avla tefaleteni.

Vindicate me, O God, champion my cause against faithless people; rescue me from the treacherous, dishonest man.

כִּי־אַתָּה אֱלֹהֵי מָעוּזִּי לָמָה זְנַחְתָּנִי לָמָּה־קֹדֵר אֶתְהַלֵּךְ בְּלַחַץ אוֹיֵב׃

Ki Ata Elohei ma'uzi, lama zenachtani, lama koder ethalech belachatz oyev.

For You are my God, my stronghold; why have You rejected me? Why must I walk in gloom, oppressed by the enemy?

שְׁלַח־אוֹרְךָ וַאֲמִתְּךָ הֵמָּה יַנְחוּנִי יְבִיאוּנִי אֶל־הַר־קָדְשְׁךָ וְאֶל־מִשְׁכְּנוֹתֶיךָ׃

Shelach orcha va'amitcha hema yanchuni, yevi'uni el har kodshecha ve'el mishkenotecha.

Send forth Your light and Your truth; they will lead me; they will bring me to Your holy mountain, to Your dwelling-place.

וְאָבוֹאָה אֶל־מִזְבַּח אֱלֹהִים אֶל־אֵל שִׂמְחַת גִּילִי וְאוֹדְךָ בְכִנּוֹר אֱלֹהִים אֱלֹהָי׃

Ve'avo'a el mizbach Elohim, el El simchat gili, ve'odcha vechinor Elohim Elohai.

That I may come to the altar of God, to God, my delight, my joy; that I may praise You with the lyre, O God, my God.

מַה־תִּשְׁתּוֹחֲחִי נַפְשִׁי וּמַה־תֶּהֱמִי עָלָי הוֹחִילִי לֵאלֹהִים כִּי־עוֹד אוֹדֶנּוּ יְשׁוּעֹת פָּנַי וֵאלֹהָי׃

Ma tishtochachi nafshi uma tehemi alai, hochili lElohim ki od odenu yeshu'ot panai vElohai.

לַמְנַצֵּחַ לִבְנֵי־קֹרַח מַשְׂכִּיל׃

אֱלֹהִים בְּאָזְנֵינוּ שָׁמַעְנוּ אֲבוֹתֵינוּ סִפְּרוּ־לָנוּ פֹּעַל פָּעַלְתָּ בִימֵיהֶם בִּימֵי קֶדֶם׃

Elohim be'ozneinu shamanu, avoteinu sipru lanu, po'al pa'alta vimeihem, bimei kedem.

We have heard, O God, our fathers have told us, the deeds You performed in their time, in days of old.

אַתָּה יָדְךָ גּוֹיִם הוֹרַשְׁתָּ וַתִּטָּעֵם תָּרַע לְאֻמִּים וַתְּשַׁלְּחֵם׃

Ata yadcha goyim horashta vatitta'em, tara le'umim vateshalechem.

With Your hand You drove out nations and planted them; You shattered peoples and spread them abroad.

כִּי לֹא בְחַרְבָּם יָרְשׁוּ אָרֶץ וּזְרוֹעָם לֹא־הוֹשִׁיעָה לָּמוֹ כִּי־יְמִינְךָ וּזְרוֹעֲךָ וְאוֹר פָּנֶיךָ כִּי רְצִיתָם׃

Ki lo becharbam yarshu aretz, uzro'am lo hoshi'a lamo, ki yemincha uzro'acha ve'or panecha ki retzitam.

It was not by their sword that they took the land, their arm did not give them victory, but by Your right hand, Your arm, and Your goodwill, for You favored them.

אַתָּה־הוּא מַלְכִּי אֱלֹהִים צַוֵּה יְשׁוּעוֹת יַעֲקֹב׃

Ata hu malki Elohim, tzave yeshu'ot Ya'akov.

You are my king, O God; decree victories for Jacob!

בְּךָ צָרֵינוּ נְנַגֵּחַ בְּשִׁמְךָ נָבוּס קָמֵינוּ׃

Becha tzareinu nenage'ach, beshimcha navus kameinu.

Through You we gore our foes; by Your name we trample our adversaries;

כִּי לֹא בְקַשְׁתִּי אֶבְטָח וְחַרְבִּי לֹא תוֹשִׁיעֵנִי׃

Ki lo vekashti evtach, vecharbi lo toshi'eni.

for I trust not in my bow, my sword does not give me victory.

כִּי הוֹשַׁעְתָּנוּ מִצָּרֵינוּ וּמְשַׂנְאֵינוּ הֱבִישׁוֹתָ׃

Ki hosha'tanu mitzareinu, umsan'einu hevishota.

You give us victory over our foes; You put our enemies to shame.

בֵּאלֹהִים הִלַּלְנוּ כָל־הַיּוֹם וְשִׁמְךָ לְעוֹלָם נוֹדֶה סֶלָה׃

BElohim hilalnu chol hayom, veshimcha le'olam node, sela.

In God we glory at all times, and praise Your name unceasingly. Selah.

אַף־זָנַחְתָּ וַתַּכְלִימֵנוּ וְלֹא־תֵצֵא בְּצִבְאוֹתֵינוּ׃

Af zanachta vatachliemnu, velo tetze betziv'oteinu.

Yet You have rejected and disgraced us; You do not go with our armies.

תְּשִׁיבֵנוּ אָחוֹר מִנִּי־צָר וּמְשַׂנְאֵינוּ שָׁסוּ לָמוֹ׃

Teshivenu achor mini tzar, umsan'einu shasu lamo.

You make us retreat before our foe; our enemies plunder us at will.

תִּתְּנֵנוּ כְּצֹאן מַאֲכָל וּבַגּוֹיִם זֵרִיתָנוּ׃

Titenenu ketzon ma'achal, uvagoyim zeritanu.

You let them devour us like sheep; You disperse us among the nations.

תִּמְכֹּר־עַמְּךָ בְלֹא־הוֹן וְלֹא־רִבִּיתָ בִּמְחִירֵיהֶם׃

Timkor amcha velo hon, velo ribita bimchireihem.

You sell Your people for no fortune, You set no high price on them.

תְּשִׂימֵנוּ חֶרְפָּה לִשְׁכֵנֵינוּ לַעַג וָקֶלֶס לִסְבִיבוֹתֵינוּ׃

Tesimenu cherpa lishcheneinu, la'ag vakelels lisvivoteinu.

You make us a byword among our neighbors, the butt of scorn and derision of those around us.

תְּשִׂימֵנוּ מָשָׁל בַּגּוֹיִם מְנוֹד־רֹאשׁ בַּלְאֻמִּים׃

Tesimenu mashal bagoyim, menod rosh bale'umim.

You make us a byword among the nations, peoples shake their head at us.

כָּל־הַיּוֹם כְּלִמָּתִי נֶגְדִּי וּבֹשֶׁת פָּנַי כִּסָּתְנִי׃

Kol hayom klimati negdi, uvoshet panai kisatni.

I am always aware of my disgrace; I am covered with shame

מִקּוֹל מְחָרֵף וּמְגַדֵּף מִפְּנֵי אוֹיֵב וּמִתְנַקֵּם׃

Mikol mecharef umegadef, mipnei oyev umitnakem.

at the sound of taunts and insults, at the sight of the vengeful foe.

כָּל־זֹאת בָּאַתְנוּ וְלֹא שְׁכַחֲנוּךָ וְלֹא־שִׁקַּרְנוּ בִּבְרִיתֶךָ׃

Kol zot ba'atnu velo shechachanuch, velo shikarnu bivritecha.

All this has come upon us, yet we have not forgotten You, or been false to Your covenant.

לֹא־נָסוֹג אָחוֹר לִבֵּנוּ וַתֵּט אֲשֻׁרֵינוּ מִנִּי אָרְחֶךָ׃

Lo nasog achor libenu, vatet ashureinu mini orchecha.

Our hearts have not gone astray, nor have our feet swerved from Your path

כִּי דִכִּיתָנוּ בִּמְקוֹם תַּנִּים וַתְּכַס עָלֵינוּ בְצַלְמָוֶת׃

Ki dikitanu bimkom tanim, vateches aleinu vetzalmavet.

though You cast us, crushed, to where the sea monster is, and covered us over with deep darkness.

אִם־שָׁכַחְנוּ שֵׁם אֱלֹהֵינוּ וַנִּפְרֹשׂ כַּפֵּינוּ לְאֵל זָר׃

Im shachachnu shem Eloheinu, vanifros kapeinu le'El zar.

If we forgot the name of our God, and spread forth our hands to a foreign god,

הֲלֹא אֱלֹהִים יַחֲקָר־זֹאת כִּי־הוּא יֹדֵעַ תַּעֲלֻמוֹת לֵב׃

Halo Elohim yachaker zot, ki hu yode'a ta'alumot lev.

God would surely search it out, for He knows the secrets of the heart.

כִּי־עָלֶיךָ הֹרַגְנוּ כָל־הַיּוֹם נֶחְשַׁבְנוּ כְּצֹאן טִבְחָה׃

Ki alecha horagnu chol hayom, nechshavnu ketzon tivcha.

It is for Your sake that we are slain all day long, that we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.

עוּרָה לָמָּה תִישַׁן אֲדֹנָי הָקִיצָה אַל־תִּזְנַח לָנֶצַח׃

Ura lama tishan Adonai, hakitza al tiznach lanetzach.

Rouse Yourself; why do You sleep, O Lord? Awaken, do not reject us forever!

לָמָּה־פָנֶיךָ תַסְתִּיר תִּשְׁכַּח עָנְיֵנוּ וְלַחֲצֵנוּ׃

Lama panecha tastir, tishkach onyenu velachatzeinu.

Why do You hide Your face, ignoring our affliction and distress?

כִּי שָׁחָה לֶעָפָר נַפְשֵׁנוּ דָּבְקָה לָאָרֶץ בִּטְנֵנוּ׃

Ki shacha le'afar nafsheinu, davka la'aretz bitneinu.

We lie prostrate in the dust; our belly clings to the ground.

קוּמָה עֶזְרָתָה לָּנוּ וּפְדֵנוּ לְמַעַן חַסְדֶּךָ׃

Kuma ezrata lanu, ufdenu lema'an chasdecha.

Arise and help us, redeem us, as befits Your faithfulness.

לַמְנַצֵּחַ עַל־שֹׁשַׁנִּים לִבְנֵי־קֹרַח מַשְׂכִּיל שִׁיר יְדִידֹת׃

Lamnatzei'ach al shoshanim livnei Korach maskil shir yedidot.

For the leader; on shoshannim. Of the Korahites. A maskil. A love song.

רָחַשׁ לִבִּי דָּבָר טוֹב אֹמֵר אָנִי מַעֲשַׂי לְמֶלֶךְ לְשׁוֹנִי עֵט סוֹפֵר מָהִיר׃

Rachash libi davar tov, omer ani ma'asai lemelech, leshoni et sofer mahir.

My heart is astir with gracious words; I speak my poem to a king; my tongue is the pen of an expert scribe.

יָפְיָפִיתָ מִבְּנֵי אָדָם הוּצַק חֵן בְּשִׂפְתוֹתֶיךָ עַל־כֵּן בֵּרַכְךָ אֱלֹהִים לְעוֹלָם׃

Yafyafita mibnei adam, hutzak chen besiftotecha, al ken berachcha Elohim le'olam.

You are fairer than all men; your speech is endowed with grace; rightly has God given you an eternal blessing.

חֲגוֹר־חַרְבְּךָ עַל־יָרֵךְ גִּבּוֹר הוֹדְךָ וַהֲדָרֶךָ׃

Chagor charbecha al yarech gibor, hodcha vahadarecha.

Gird your sword upon your thigh, O hero, in your splendor and glory;

וַהֲדָרְךָ צְלַח רְכַב עַל־דְּבַר־אֱמֶת וְעַנְוָה־צֶדֶק וְתוֹרְךָ נוֹרָאוֹת יְמִינֶךָ׃

Vahadarcha tzelach rechav al devar emet ve'anva tzedek, vetorcha nora'ot yeminecha.

in your glory, win success; ride on in the cause of truth and meekness and right; and let your right hand lead you to awesome deeds.

חִצֶּיךָ שְׁנוּנִים עַמִּים תַּחְתֶּיךָ יִפְּלוּ בְּלֵב אוֹיְבֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ׃

Chitzecha shenunim amim tachtecha yiplu, belev oyvei hamelech.

Your arrows, sharpened, [pierce] the breast of the king's enemies; peoples fall at your feet.

כִּסְאֲךָ אֱלֹהִים עוֹלָם וָעֶד שֵׁבֶט מִישֹׁר שֵׁבֶט מַלְכוּתֶךָ׃

Kis'acha Elohim olam va'ed, shevet mishor shevet malchutecha.

Your divine throne is everlasting; your royal scepter is a scepter of equity.

אָהַבְתָּ צֶּדֶק וַתִּשְׂנָא רֶשַׁע עַל־כֵּן מְשָׁחֲךָ אֱלֹהִים אֱלֹהֶיךָ שֶׁמֶן שָׂשׂוֹן מֵחֲבֵרֶיךָ׃

Ahavta tzedek vatisna resha, al ken meshachacha Elohim Elohecha shemen sason mechavereicha.

You love righteousness and hate wickedness; rightly has God, your God, chosen to anoint you with oil of gladness over all your peers.

מֹר־וַאֲהָלוֹת קְצִיעוֹת כָּל־בִּגְדֹתֶיךָ מִן־הֵיכְלֵי שֵׁן מִנִּי שִׂמְּחוּךָ׃

Mor va'ahalot ketzi'ot kol bigdotecha, min heichlei shen mini simechuch.

All your robes [are fragrant] with myrrh and aloes and cassia; from ivory palaces, lutes entertain you.

בְּנוֹת מְלָכִים בְּיִקְּרוֹתֶיךָ נִצְּבָה שֵׁגַל לִימִינְךָ בְּכֶתֶם אוֹפִיר׃

Benot melachim beyikerotecha, nitzeva shegal limincha becetem Ofir.

Royal princesses are your favorites; the consort stands at your right hand, decked in gold of Ophir.

שִׁמְעִי־בַת וּרְאִי וְהַטִּי אָזְנֵךְ וְשִׁכְחִי עַמֵּךְ וּבֵית אָבִיךְ׃

Shim'i vat ur'i vehati oznech, veshichechi amech uveit avich.

Take heed, O daughter, and note, incline your ear: forget your people and your father's house,

וְיִתְאָו הַמֶּלֶךְ יָפְיֵךְ כִּי־הוּא אֲדֹנַיִךְ וְהִשְׁתַּחֲוִי־לוֹ׃

Veyit'av hamelech yofyech, ki hu adonayich vehishtachavi lo.

and let the king desire your beauty; since he is your lord, bow to him.

וּבַת־צֹר בְּמִנְחָה פָּנַיִךְ יְחַלּוּ עֲשִׁירֵי עָם׃

Uvat Tzor bemincha, panayich yechalu ashirei am.

O daughter of Tyre! The wealthiest of peoples will court your favor with gifts.

כָּל־כְּבוּדָּה בַת־מֶלֶךְ פְּנִימָה מִמִּשְׁבְּצוֹת זָהָב לְבוּשָׁהּ׃

Kol kevuda vat melech penima, mimishbetzot zahav levusha.

All glorious is the princess within; her gown is embroidered with golden mountings.

לִרְקָמוֹת תּוּבַל לַמֶּלֶךְ בְּתוּלוֹת אַחֲרֶיהָ רֵעוֹתֶיהָ מוּבָאוֹת לָךְ׃

Lirkmot tuval lamelech, betulot achareha re'oteha muva'ot lach.

She is led to the king in embroidered gown; her companions, the maidens in her train, are presented to you.

תּוּבַלְנָה בִּשְׂמָחֹת וָגִיל תְּבֹאֶינָה בְּהֵיכַל מֶלֶךְ׃

Tuvalna bismachot vagil, tevo'eina beheichal melech.

They are led in with joy and gladness; they enter the palace of the king.

תַּחַת אֲבֹתֶיךָ יִהְיוּ בָנֶיךָ תְּשִׁיתֵמוֹ לְשָׂרִים בְּכָל־הָאָרֶץ׃

Tachat avotecha yihyu vanecha, teshitemo lesarim bechol ha'aretz.

Your sons will succeed your ancestors; you will appoint them princes throughout the land.

אַזְכִּירָה שִׁמְךָ בְּכָל־דֹּר וָדֹר עַל־כֵּן עַמִּים יְהוֹדוּךָ לְעֹלָם וָעֶד׃

Azkira shimcha bechol dor vador, al ken amim yehoducha le'olam va'ed.

I will make your fame endure through all generations; peoples will praise you forever and ever.

לַמְנַצֵּחַ לִבְנֵי־קֹרַח עַל־עֲלָמוֹת שִׁיר׃

Lamnatzei'ach livnei Korach al alamot shir.

אֱלֹהִים לָנוּ מַחֲסֶה וָעֹז עֶזְרָה בְצָרוֹת נִמְצָא מְאֹד׃

Elohim lanu machase va'oz, ezra vetzarot nimtza me'od.

God is our refuge and stronghold, a help in trouble, very near.

עַל־כֵּן לֹא־נִירָא בְּהָמִיר אָרֶץ וּבְמוֹט הָרִים בְּלֵב יַמִּים׃

Al ken lo nira behamir aretz, uvmot harim belev yamim.

Therefore we are not afraid though the earth reels, though mountains topple into the sea—

יֶהֱמוּ יֶחְמְרוּ מֵימָיו יִרְעֲשׁוּ־הָרִים בְּגַאֲוָתוֹ סֶלָה׃

Yehemu yechmeru meimav, yir'ashu harim bega'avato, sela.

its waters rage and foam, in its swell mountains quake. Selah.

נָהָר פְּלָגָיו יְשַׂמְּחוּ עִיר־אֱלֹהִים קְדֹשׁ מִשְׁכְּנֵי עֶלְיוֹן׃

Nahar pelagav yesamchu ir Elohim, kedosh mishkenei Elyon.

There is a river whose streams gladden God's city, the holy dwelling-place of the Most High.

אֱלֹהִים בְּקִרְבָּהּ בַּל־תִּמּוֹט יַעְזְרֶהָ אֱלֹהִים לִפְנוֹת בֹּקֶר׃

Elohim bekirba bal timot, ya'azreha Elohim lifnot boker.

God is in its midst, it will not be toppled; by daybreak God will come to its aid.

הָמוּ גוֹיִם מָטוּ מַמְלָכוֹת נָתַן בְּקוֹלוֹ תָּמוּג אָרֶץ׃

Hamu goyim matu mamlachot, natan bekolo tamug aretz.

Nations rage, kingdoms topple; at the sound of His thunder the earth dissolves.

יְהוָה צְבָאוֹת עִמָּנוּ מִשְׂגָּב־לָנוּ אֱלֹהֵי יַעֲקֹב סֶלָה׃

Adonai tzeva'ot imanu, misgav lanu Elohei Ya'akov, sela.

The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our haven. Selah.

לְכוּ־חֲזוּ מִפְעֲלוֹת יְהוָה אֲשֶׁר־שָׂם שַׁמּוֹת בָּאָרֶץ׃

Lechu chazu mif'alot Adonai, asher sam shamot ba'aretz.

Come and see what the LORD has done, the desolations He has wrought on earth.

מַשְׁבִּית מִלְחָמוֹת עַד־קְצֵה הָאָרֶץ קֶשֶׁת יְשַׁבֵּר וְקִצֵּץ חֲנִית עֲגָלוֹת יִשְׂרֹף בָּאֵשׁ׃

Mashbit milchamot ad ketze ha'aretz, keshet yeshaber vekitzetz chanit, agalot yisrof ba'esh.

He puts a stop to wars throughout the earth, breaking the bow, snapping the spear, consigning wagons to the flames.

הַרְפּוּ וּדְעוּ כִּי־אָנֹכִי אֱלֹהִים אָרוּם בַּגּוֹיִם אָרוּם בָּאָרֶץ׃

Harpu ud'u ki anochi Elohim, arum bagoyim arum ba'aretz.

"Desist! Realize that I am God! I dominate the nations; I dominate the earth."

יְהוָה צְבָאוֹת עִמָּנוּ מִשְׂגָּב־לָנוּ אֱלֹהֵי יַעֲקֹב סֶלָה׃

All you peoples, clap your hands; raise a joyous shout for God.

כִּי־יְהוָה עֶלְיוֹן נוֹרָא מֶלֶךְ גָּדוֹל עַל־כָּל־הָאָרֶץ׃

Ki Adonai Elyon nora, melech gadol al kol ha'aretz.

For the LORD Most High is awesome, a great king over all the earth.

יַדְבֵּר עַמִּים תַּחְתֵּינוּ וּלְאֻמִּים תַּחַת רַגְלֵינוּ׃

Yadber amim tachteinu, ule'umim tachat ragleinu.

He subjects peoples to us, nations to our rule.

יִבְחַר־לָנוּ אֶת־נַחֲלָתֵנוּ אֶת גְּאוֹן יַעֲקֹב אֲשֶׁר־אָהֵב סֶלָה׃

Yivchar lanu et nachalatenu, et ge'on Ya'akov asher ahev, sela.

He chose for us our heritage, the pride of Jacob whom He loved. Selah.

עָלָה אֱלֹהִים בִּתְרוּעָה יְהוָה בְּקוֹל שׁוֹפָר׃

Ala Elohim bitru'a, Adonai bekol shofar.

God ascends midst acclamation; the LORD, to the blasts of the horn.

זַמְּרוּ אֱלֹהִים זַמֵּרוּ זַמְּרוּ לְמַלְכֵּנוּ זַמֵּרוּ׃

Zamru Elohim zameru, zamru lemalkeinu zameru.

Sing hymns to God, sing hymns; sing hymns to our king, sing hymns!

כִּי מֶלֶךְ כָּל־הָאָרֶץ אֱלֹהִים זַמְּרוּ מַשְׂכִּיל׃

Ki melech kol ha'aretz Elohim, zamru maskil.

For God is king over all the earth; sing a hymn.

מָלַךְ אֱלֹהִים עַל־גּוֹיִם אֱלֹהִים יָשַׁב עַל־כִּסֵּא קָדְשׁוֹ׃

Malach Elohim al goyim, Elohim yashav al kise kodsho.

God reigns over the nations; God is seated on His holy throne.

נְדִיבֵי עַמִּים נֶאֱסָפוּ עַם אֱלֹהֵי אַבְרָהָם כִּי לֵאלֹהִים מָגִנֵּי־אֶרֶץ מְאֹד נַעֲלָה׃

Nedivei amim ne'esafu am Elohei Avraham, ki lElohim maginei eretz me'od na'ala.

The great of the peoples are gathered together, the retinue of Abraham's God; for the guardians of the earth belong to God; He is greatly exalted.

גָּדוֹל יְהוָה וּמְהֻלָּל מְאֹד בְּעִיר אֱלֹהֵינוּ הַר־קָדְשׁוֹ׃

Gadol Adonai umehulal me'od be'ir Eloheinu har kodsho.

The LORD is great and much acclaimed in the city of our God, His holy mountain—

יְפֵה נוֹף מְשׂוֹשׂ כָּל־הָאָרֶץ הַר־צִיּוֹן יַרְכְּתֵי צָפוֹן קִרְיַת מֶלֶךְ רָב׃

Yefe nof mesos kol ha'aretz har Tziyon yarcheti tzafon, kiryat melech rav.

fair-crested, joy of all the earth, Mount Zion, on the north of the city, the great king.

אֱלֹהִים בְּאַרְמְנוֹתֶיהָ נוֹדַע לְמִשְׂגָּב׃

Elohim be'armenoteha noda lemisgav.

Through its citadels, God has made Himself known as a haven.

כִּי־הִנֵּה הַמְּלָכִים נוֹעֲדוּ עָבְרוּ יַחְדָּו׃

Ki hineh hamelachim no'adu, avru yachdav.

See, the kings joined forces; they advanced together.

הֵמָּה רָאוּ כֵּן תָּמָהוּ נִבְהֲלוּ נֶחְפָּזוּ׃

Hema ra'u ken tamahu, nivhalu nechpazu.

At the mere sight of it they were stunned, they were terrified, they fled.

רְעָדָה אֲחָזָתַם שָׁם חִיל כַּיּוֹלֵדָה׃

Re'ada achazatam sham, chil kayoleda.

Trembling seized them there, pangs like a woman in labor.

בְּרוּחַ קָדִים תְּשַׁבֵּר אֳנִיּוֹת תַּרְשִׁישׁ׃

Beru'ach kadim teshaber oniyot Tarshish.

As the Tarshish fleet was wrecked in an easterly gale.

כַּאֲשֶׁר שָׁמַעְנוּ כֵּן רָאִינוּ בְּעִיר־יְהוָה צְבָאוֹת בְּעִיר אֱלֹהֵינוּ אֱלֹהִים יְכוֹנְנֶהָ עַד־עוֹלָם סֶלָה׃

Ka'asher shamanu ken ra'inu be'ir Adonai tzeva'ot, be'ir Eloheinu, Elohim yeconeneha ad olam, sela.

The likes of what we heard we have now witnessed in the city of the LORD of hosts, in the city of our God—may God preserve it forever! Selah.

דִּמִּינוּ אֱלֹהִים חַסְדֶּךָ בְּקֶרֶב הֵיכָלֶךָ׃

Diminu Elohim chasdecha bekerev heichalecha.

In Your temple, God, we meditate upon Your faithful care.

כְּשִׁמְךָ אֱלֹהִים כֵּן תְּהִלָּתְךָ עַל־קַצְוֵי־אֶרֶץ צֶדֶק מָלְאָה יְמִינֶךָ׃

Keshimcha Elohim ken tehilatcha al katzvei eretz, tzedek male'a yeminecha.

The praise of You, God, like Your name, reaches to the ends of the earth; Your right hand is filled with beneficence.

יִשְׂמַח הַר־צִיּוֹן תָּגֵלְנָה בְּנוֹת יְהוּדָה לְמַעַן מִשְׁפָּטֶיךָ׃

Yismach har Tziyon, tagelna benot Yehuda lema'an mishpatecha.

Let Mount Zion rejoice, let the daughters of Judah exult, because of Your judgments.

סֹבּוּ צִיּוֹן וְהַקִּיפוּהָ סִפְרוּ מִגְדָּלֶיהָ׃

Sovu Tziyon vehakifuha, sifru migdaleha.

Walk around Zion, circle it; count its towers;

שִׁיתוּ לִבְּכֶם לְחֵילָה פַּסְּגוּ אַרְמְנוֹתֶיהָ לְמַעַן תְּסַפְּרוּ לְדוֹר אַחֲרוֹן׃

Shitu libchem lecheila, pasgu armenoteha, lema'an tesapru ledor acharon.

take note of its ramparts, go through its citadels, that you may recount it to a future generation.

כִּי זֶה אֱלֹהִים אֱלֹהֵינוּ עוֹלָם וָעֶד הוּא יְנַהֲגֵנוּ עַל־מוּת׃

Ki ze Elohim Eloheinu olam va'ed, hu yenaagenu al mut.

For God—He is our God forever; He will lead us evermore.

Gam benei adam gam benei ish, yachad ashir ve'evyon.

men of all estates, rich and poor alike.

פִּי יְדַבֵּר חָכְמוֹת וְהָגוּת לִבִּי תְבוּנוֹת׃

Pi yedaber chochmot, vehagut libi tevunot.

My mouth utters wisdom, my heart's thoughts are understanding.

אַטֶּה לְמָשָׁל אָזְנִי אֶפְתַּח בְּכִנּוֹר חִידָתִי׃

Ate lemashal ozni, eftach bechinor chidati.

I will turn my attention to a theme, disclosing my theme to the tune of a lyre.

לָמָּה אִירָא בִּימֵי רָע עֲוֺן עֲקֵבַי יְסוּבֵּנִי׃

Lama ira bimei ra, avon akevai yesuveni.

In time of trouble, why should I fear the encompassing evil of those who would supplant me—

הַבֹּטְחִים עַל־חֵילָם וּבְרֹב עָשְׁרָם יִתְהַלָּלוּ׃

Habotchim al cheilam, uverov oshram yithalalu.

men who trust in their riches, who glory in their great wealth?

אָח לֹא פָדֹה יִפְדֶּה אִישׁ לֹא־יִתֵּן לֵאלֹהִים כָּפְרוֹ׃

Ach lo fado yifde ish, lo yiten lElohim kofro.

Ah, it cannot redeem a man, or pay his ransom to God;

וְיֵקַר פִּדְיוֹן נַפְשָׁם וְחָדַל לְעוֹלָם׃

Veyekar pidyon nafsham, vechadal le'olam.

the price of life is too high; and so one ceases to be, forever.

וִיחִי־עוֹד לָנֶצַח לֹא יִרְאֶה הַשָּׁחַת׃

Vichi od lanetzach, lo yir'eh hashachat.

Shall he live eternally, and never see the grave?

כִּי יִרְאֶה חֲכָמִים יָמוּתוּ יַחַד כְּסִיל וָבַעַר יֹאבֵדוּ וְעָזְבוּ לַאֲחֵרִים חֵילָם׃

Ki yir'eh chachamim yamutu, yachad kesil uva'ar yovedu, ve'azvu la'acherim cheilam.

For one sees that the wise die, that the fool and the ignorant both perish, leaving their wealth to others.

קִרְבָּם בָּתֵּימוֹ לְעוֹלָם מִשְׁכְּנֹתָם לְדֹר וָדֹר קָרְאוּ בִשְׁמוֹתָם עֲלֵי אֲדָמוֹת׃

Kirbam batemo le'olam, mishkenotam ledor vador, kar'u vishmotam alei adamot.

Their grave is their eternal home, the dwelling-place for all generations of those once famous on earth.

וְאָדָם בִּיקָר בַּל־יָלִין נִמְשַׁל כַּבְּהֵמוֹת נִדְמוּ׃

Ve'adam bikar bal yalin, nimshal kabehemot nidmu.

Man does not abide in honor; he is like the beasts that perish.

זֶה דַרְכָּם כֵּסֶל לָמוֹ וְאַחֲרֵיהֶם בְּפִיהֶם יִרְצוּ סֶלָה׃

Ze darkam kesel lamo, ve'achareihem befihem yirtzu, sela.

Such is the fate of those who are self-confident, the end of those pleased with their own talk. Selah.

כַּצֹּאן לִשְׁאוֹל שַׁתּוּ מָוֶת יִרְעֵם וַיִּרְדּוּ בָם יְשָׁרִים לַבֹּקֶר וְצוּרָם לְבַלּוֹת שְׁאוֹל מִזְּבֻל לוֹ׃

Katzon lish'ol shatu, mavet yir'em, vayirdu vam yesharim laboker, vetzuram levalot she'ol mizevu lo.

Sheeplike they head for Sheol, with Death as their shepherd. The upright shall rule over them at daybreak, and their form shall waste away in Sheol till its glory is gone.

אַךְ־אֱלֹהִים יִפְדֶּה נַפְשִׁי מִיַּד־שְׁאוֹל כִּי יִקָּחֵנִי סֶלָה׃

Ach Elohim yifde nafshi miyad she'ol, ki yikacheni, sela.

But God will redeem my life from the clutches of Sheol, for He will take me. Selah.

אַל־תִּירָא כִּי־יַעֲשִׁר אִישׁ כִּי־יִרְבֶּה כְּבוֹד בֵּיתוֹ׃

Al tira ki ya'ashir ish, ki yirbe kevod beito.

Do not be afraid when a man becomes rich, when his household goods increase;

כִּי לֹא בְמוֹתוֹ יִקַּח הַכֹּל לֹא־יֵרֵד אַחֲרָיו כְּבוֹדוֹ׃

Ki lo vemoto yikach hakol, lo yered acharav kevodo.

for when he dies he can take nothing along; his goods cannot follow him down.

כִּי־נַפְשׁוֹ בְּחַיָּיו יְבָרֵךְ וְיוֹדֻךָ כִּי־תֵיטִיב לָךְ׃

Ki nafsho bechayav yevarech, veyoducha ki teitiv lach.

Though he congratulates himself in his lifetime—"They must admit that you did well by yourself"—

תָּבוֹא עַד־דּוֹר אֲבוֹתָיו עַד־נֵצַח לֹא יִרְאוּ־אוֹר׃

Tavo ad dor avotav, ad netzach lo yir'u or.

yet he must join the company of his ancestors, who will never see daylight again.

אָדָם בִּיקָר וְלֹא יָבִין נִמְשַׁל כַּבְּהֵמוֹת נִדְמוּ׃

Adam bikar velo yavin, nimshal kabehemot nidmu.

Man who has riches but lacks understanding is like the beasts that perish.

מִזְמוֹר לְאָסָף אֵל אֱלֹהִים יְהוָה דִּבֶּר וַיִּקְרָא־אָרֶץ מִמִּזְרַח־שֶׁמֶשׁ עַד־מְבֹאוֹ׃

Mizmor le'Asaf. El Elohim Adonai diber vayikra aretz, mimizrach shemesh ad mevo'o.

A psalm of Asaph. God, the LORD God spoke and summoned the world from east to west.

מִצִּיּוֹן מִכְלַל־יֹפִי אֱלֹהִים הוֹפִיעַ׃

MiTziyon michlal yofi Elohim hofi'a.

From Zion, perfect in beauty, God appeared

יָבֹא אֱלֹהֵינוּ וְאַל־יֶחֱרַשׁ אֵשׁ־לְפָנָיו תֹּאכֵל וּסְבִיבָיו נִשְׂעֲרָה מְאֹד׃

Yavo Eloheinu ve'al yecherash, esh lefanav tochel, usvivav nis'ara me'od.

—let our God come and not fail to act! Devouring fire preceded Him; it stormed around Him fiercely.

יִקְרָא אֶל־הַשָּׁמַיִם מֵעָל וְאֶל־הָאָרֶץ לָדִין עַמּוֹ׃

Yikra el hashamayim me'al, ve'el ha'aretz ladin amo.

He summoned the heavens above, and the earth, for the trial of His people.

אִסְפוּ־לִי חֲסִידָי כֹּרְתֵי בְרִיתִי עֲלֵי־זָבַח׃

Isfu li chasidai, kortei veriti alei zavach.

"Bring in My devotees, who made a covenant with Me over sacrifice!"

וַיַּגִּידוּ שָׁמַיִם צִדְקוֹ כִּי־אֱלֹהִים שֹׁפֵט הוּא סֶלָה׃

Vayagidu shamayim tzidko, ki Elohim shofet hu, sela.

Then the heavens proclaimed His righteousness, for He is a God who judges. Selah.

שִׁמְעָה עַמִּי וַאֲדַבֵּרָה יִשְׂרָאֵל וְאָעִידָה בָּךְ אֱלֹהִים אֱלֹהֶיךָ אָנֹכִי׃

Shim'a ami va'adabera, Yisrael ve'a'ida bach, Elohim Elohecha anochi.

"Pay heed, My people, and I will speak, O Israel, and I will arraign you. I am God, your God.

לֹא עַל־זְבָחֶיךָ אוֹכִיחֶךָ וְעוֹלֹתֶיךָ לְנֶגְדִּי תָמִיד׃

Lo al zevacheicha ochichecha, ve'olotecha lenegdi tamid.

I am not reproaching you for your sacrifices; your burnt offerings, made to Me daily,

לֹא־אֶקַּח מִבֵּיתְךָ פָר מִמִּכְלְאֹתֶיךָ עַתּוּדִים׃

Lo ekach mibeitcha far, mimichle'otecha atudim.

I claim no bull from your estate, no he-goats from your pens;

כִּי־לִי כָל־חַיְתוֹ־יָעַר בְּהֵמוֹת בְּהַרְרֵי־אָלֶף׃

Ki li chol chayto ya'ar, behemot beharrei alef.

for Mine is every animal of the forest, the beasts on a thousand mountains.

יָדַעְתִּי כָּל־עוֹף הָרִים וְזִיז שָׂדַי עִמָּדִי׃

Yadati kol of harim, veziz sadai imadi.

I know every bird of the mountains, the creatures of the field are subject to Me.

אִם־אֶרְעַב לֹא־אֹמַר לָךְ כִּי־לִי תֵבֵל וּמְלֹאָהּ׃

Im er'av lo omar lach, ki li tevel umlo'ah.

Were I hungry, I would not tell you, for Mine is the world and all it holds.

הַאוֹכַל בְּשַׂר אַבִּירִים וְדַם עַתּוּדִים אֶשְׁתֶּה׃

Ha'ochal besar abirim, vedam atudim eshte.

Do I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of he-goats?

זְבַח לֵאלֹהִים תּוֹדָה וְשַׁלֵּם לְעֶלְיוֹן נְדָרֶיךָ׃

Zevach lElohim toda, veshalem le'Elyon nedarecha.

Sacrifice a thank offering to God, and pay your vows to the Most High.

וּקְרָאֵנִי בְּיוֹם צָרָה אֲחַלֶּצְךָ וּתְכַבְּדֵנִי׃

Ukra'eni beyom tzara, achaletzcha utechabdeni.

Call upon Me in time of trouble; I will rescue you, and you shall honor Me."

וְלָרָשָׁע אָמַר אֱלֹהִים מַה־לְּךָ לְסַפֵּר חֻקָּי וַתִּשָּׂא בְרִיתִי עֲלֵי־פִיךָ׃

Velarasha amar Elohim, ma lecha lesaper chukai, vatisa veriti alei ficha.

And to the wicked, God said: "Who are you to recite My laws, and mouth the terms of My covenant,

וְאַתָּה שָׂנֵאתָ מוּסָר וַתַּשְׁלֵךְ דְּבָרַי אַחֲרֶיךָ׃

Ve'ata saneta musar, vatashlich devarai acharecha.

seeing that you spurn My discipline, and brush My words aside?

אִם־רָאִיתָ גַנָּב וַתִּרֶץ עִמּוֹ וְעִם מְנָאֲפִים חֶלְקֶךָ׃

Im ra'ita ganav vatiretz imo, ve'im mena'afim chelkecha.

When you see a thief, you fall in with him, and throw in your lot with adulterers;

פִּיךָ שָׁלַחְתָּ בְרָעָה וּלְשׁוֹנְךָ תַּצְמִיד מִרְמָה׃

Picha shalachta vera'a, ulshoncha tatzmid mirma.

you devote your mouth to evil, and yoke your tongue to deceit;

תֵּשֵׁב בְּאָחִיךָ תְדַבֵּר בְּבֶן־אִמְּךָ תִּתֶּן־דֹּפִי׃

Teshev be'achicha tedaber, beven imcha titen dofi.

you are busy maligning your brother, defaming the son of your mother.

אֵלֶּה עָשִׂיתָ וְהֶחֱרַשְׁתִּי דִּמִּיתָ הֱיוֹת־אֶהְיֶה כָמוֹךָ אוֹכִיחֲךָ וְאֶעֶרְכָה לְעֵינֶיךָ׃

Ele asita vehechesheti, dimita heyot ehye chamocha, ochichacha ve'ercha le'einecha.

If I failed to act when you did these things, you would fancy that I was like you; so I censure you and confront you with charges.

בִּינוּ־נָא זֹאת שֹׁכְחֵי אֱלוֹהַּ פֶּן־אֶטְרֹף וְאֵין מַצִּיל׃

Binu na zot shochechei Elo'ah, pen etrof ve'ein matzil.

Mark this, you who are unmindful of God, lest I tear you apart and no one save you.

זֹבֵחַ תּוֹדָה יְכַבְּדָנְנִי וְשָׂם דֶּרֶךְ אַרְאֶנּוּ בְּיֵשַׁע אֱלֹהִים׃

Zove'ach toda yechabedaneni, vesam derech ar'enu beyesha Elohim.

He who sacrifices a thank offering honors Me, and to him who improves his way I will show the salvation of God."
