תהילים 91

יֹשֵׁב בְּסֵתֶר עֶלְיוֹן בְּצֵל שַׁדַּי יִתְלוֹנָן׃

Yoshev beseter Elyon, betzel Shaddai yitlonan.

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High, abides in the shadow of the Almighty.

אֹמַר לַיהוָה מַחְסִי וּמְצוּדָתִי אֱלֹהַי אֶבְטַח־בּוֹ׃

Omar laAdonai machsi umetzudati, Elohai evtach bo.

I say of the LORD, my refuge and stronghold, my God in whom I trust,

כִּי הוּא יַצִּילְךָ מִפַּח יָקוּשׁ מִדֶּבֶר הַוּוֹת׃

Ki hu yatzilcha mipach yakush, midever havot.

that He will save you from the fowler's trap, from the destructive plague.

בְּאֶבְרָתוֹ יָסֶךְ לָךְ וְתַחַת־כְּנָפָיו תֶּחְסֶה צִנָּה וְסֹחֵרָה אֲמִתּוֹ׃

Be'evrato yasech lach, vetachat kenafav techse, tzina vesochera amito.

He will cover you with His pinions; you will find refuge under His wings; His fidelity is an encircling shield.

לֹא־תִירָא מִפַּחַד לָיְלָה מֵחֵץ יָעוּף יוֹמָם׃

Lo tira mipachad layla, mechetz ya'uf yomam.

You need not fear the terror by night, or the arrow that flies by day,

מִדֶּבֶר בָּאֹפֶל יַהֲלֹךְ מִקֶּטֶב יָשׁוּד צָהֳרָיִם׃

Midever ba'ofel yahaloch, miketev yashud tzohorayim.

the plague that stalks in the darkness, or the scourge that ravages at noon.

יִפֹּל מִצִּדְּךָ אֶלֶף וּרְבָבָה מִימִינֶךָ אֵלֶיךָ לֹא יִגָּשׁ׃

Yipol mitzidcha elef, urevava miminecha, elecha lo yigash.

A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right, but it shall not come near you.

רַק בְּעֵינֶיךָ תַבִּיט וְשִׁלֻּמַת רְשָׁעִים תִּרְאֶה׃

Rak be'einecha tabit, veshilumat resha'im tir'e.

You will see it with your own eyes, you will witness the punishment of the wicked.

כִּי־אַתָּה יְהוָה מַחְסִי עֶלְיוֹן שַׂמְתָּ מְעוֹנֶךָ׃

Ki Ata Adonai machsi, Elyon samta me'onecha.

Because you took the LORD—my refuge, the Most High—as your haven,

לֹא־תְאֻנֶּה אֵלֶיךָ רָעָה וְנֶגַע לֹא־יִקְרַב בְּאָהֳלֶךָ׃

Lo te'une elecha ra'a, venega lo yikrav be'oholecha.

no harm will befall you, no disease touch your tent.

כִּי מַלְאָכָיו יְצַוֶּה־לָּךְ לִשְׁמָרְךָ בְּכָל־דְּרָכֶיךָ׃

Ki mal'achav yetzave lach, lishmorcha bechol derachecha.

For He will order His angels to guard you wherever you go.

עַל־כַּפַּיִם יִשָּׂאוּנְךָ פֶּן־תִּגֹּף בָּאֶבֶן רַגְלֶךָ׃

Al kapayim yisa'uncha, pen tigof ba'even raglecha.

They will carry you in their hands lest you hurt your foot on a stone.

עַל־שַׁחַל וָפֶתֶן תִּדְרֹךְ תִּרְמֹס כְּפִיר וְתַנִּין׃

Al shachal vafeten tidroch, tirmos kefir vetanin.

You will tread on lion and asp, trample young lion and serpent.

כִּי בִי חָשַׁק וַאֲפַלְּטֵהוּ אֲשַׂגְּבֵהוּ כִּי־יָדַע שְׁמִי׃

Ki vi chashak va'afaltehu, asagvehu ki yada shemi.

Because he is devoted to Me I will deliver him; I will keep him safe, for he knows My name.

יִקְרָאֵנִי וְאֶעֱנֵהוּ עִמּוֹ־אָנֹכִי בְצָרָה אֲחַלְּצֵהוּ וַאֲכַבְּדֵהוּ׃

Yikra'eni ve'e'enehu, imo anochi vetzara, achaletzehu va'achabdehu.

When he calls on Me, I will answer him; I will be with him in distress; I will rescue him and honor him.

אֹרֶךְ יָמִים אַשְׂבִּיעֵהוּ וְאַרְאֵהוּ בִּישׁוּעָתִי׃

Orech yamim asbi'ehu, ve'ar'ehu bishu'ati.

I will let him live to a ripe old age, and show him My salvation.
