תהילים 109

לַמְנַצֵּחַ לְדָוִד מִזְמוֹר אֱלֹהֵי תְהִלָּתִי אַל־תֶּחֱרַשׁ׃

Lamnatzei'ach leDavid mizmor, Elohei tehilati al techerash.

For the leader. Of David. A psalm. O God of my praise, do not keep silent.

כִּי פִי רָשָׁע וּפִי־מִרְמָה עָלַי פָּתָחוּ דִּבְּרוּ אִתִּי לְשׁוֹן שָׁקֶר׃

Ki fi rasha ufi mirma alai patachu, dibru iti leshon shaker.

The wicked and the deceitful open their mouths against me; they speak to me with lying tongues.

וְדִבְרֵי שִׂנְאָה סְבָבוּנִי וַיִּלָּחֲמוּנִי חִנָּם׃

Vedivrei sin'a sevavuni, vayilachamuni chinam.

With hateful words they surround me; they attack me without cause.

תַּחַת־אַהֲבָתִי יִשְׂטְנוּנִי וַאֲנִי תְפִלָּה׃

Tachat ahavati yistenuni, va'ani tefila.

They answer my love with accusations, but I am all prayer.

וַיָּשִׂימוּ עָלַי רָעָה תַּחַת טוֹבָה וְשִׂנְאָה תַּחַת אַהֲבָתִי׃

Vayasimu alai ra'a tachat tova, vesin'a tachat ahavati.

They repay me evil for good, hatred for my love.

הַפְקֵד עָלָיו רָשָׁע וְשָׂטָן יַעֲמֹד עַל־יְמִינוֹ׃

Hafked alav rasha, vesatan ya'amod al yemino.

Set a wicked man over him; let an accuser stand at his right.

בְּהִשָּׁפְטוֹ יֵצֵא רָשָׁע וּתְפִלָּתוֹ תִּהְיֶה לַחֲטָאָה׃

Behishafto yetze rasha, utefilato tihye lachata'a.

When he is judged, let him be found guilty; let his prayer be counted as a sin.

יִהְיוּ־יָמָיו מְעַטִּים פְּקֻדָּתוֹ יִקַּח אַחֵר׃

Yihyu yamav me'atim, pekudato yikach acher.

Let his days be few; let another take his position.

יִהְיוּ־בָנָיו יְתוֹמִים וְאִשְׁתּוֹ אַלְמָנָה׃

Yihyu vanav yetomim, ve'ishto almana.

May his children be orphans, his wife a widow.

וְנוֹעַ יָנוּעוּ בָנָיו וְשִׁאֵלוּ וְדָרְשׁוּ מֵחָרְבוֹתֵיהֶם׃

Veno'a yanu'u vanav veshi'elu, vedareshu mecharevoteihem.

May his children wander and beg, searching for food far from their ruined homes.

יְנַקֵּשׁ נוֹשֶׁה לְכָל־אֲשֶׁר־לוֹ וְיָבֹזּוּ זָרִים יְגִיעוֹ׃

Yenakesh noshe lechol asher lo, veyabozu zarim yegi'o.

May the creditor seize all he has; may strangers plunder the fruits of his labor.

אַל־יְהִי־לוֹ מֹשֵׁךְ חָסֶד וְאַל־יְהִי חוֹנֵן לִיתוֹמָיו׃

Al yehi lo moshech chased, ve'al yehi chonen liytomav.

May no one extend kindness to him; may no one pity his orphans.

יְהִי־אַחֲרִיתוֹ לְהַכְרִית בְּדוֹר אַחֵר יִמַּח שְׁמָם׃

Yehi acharito lehachrit, bedor acher yimach shemam.

May his posterity be cut off; may their name be blotted out in the next generation.

יִזָּכֵר עֲוֺן אֲבֹתָיו אֶל־יְהוָה וְחַטַּאת אִמּוֹ אַל־תִּמָּח׃

Yizacher avon avotav el Adonai, vechatat imo al timach.

May the LORD remember the iniquity of his fathers; let his mother's sin not be blotted out.

יִהְיוּ נֶגֶד־יְהוָה תָּמִיד וְיַכְרֵת מֵאֶרֶץ זִכְרָם׃

Yihyu neged Adonai tamid, veyachret me'eretz zichram.

May they be before the LORD continually; may He cut off all memory of them from the earth!

יַעַן אֲשֶׁר לֹא זָכַר עֲשׂוֹת חָסֶד וַיִּרְדֹּף אִישׁ־עָנִי וְאֶבְיוֹן וְנִכְאֵה לֵבָב לְמוֹתֵת׃

Ya'an asher lo zachar asot chased, vayirdof ish ani ve'evyon, venich'eh levav lemoteit.

Because he did not remember to show kindness, but hounded the poor and needy, the brokenhearted, to death.

וַיֶּאֱהַב קְלָלָה וַתְּבוֹאֵהוּ וְלֹא־חָפֵץ בִּבְרָכָה וַתִּרְחַק מִמֶּנּוּ׃

Vaye'ehav kelala vatevo'ehu, velo chafetz bivracha vatirchak mimenu.

He loved to curse—may curses come upon him! He would not bless—may blessing be far from him!

וַיִּלְבַּשׁ קְלָלָה כְּמַדּוֹ וַתָּבֹא כַמַּיִם בְּקִרְבּוֹ וְכַשֶּׁמֶן בְּעַצְמוֹתָיו׃

Vayilbash kelala kemado, vatavo chamayim bekirbo, vechashemen be'atzmotav.

May he be clothed in cursing like a garment, may it seep into him like water, like oil into his bones.

תְּהִי־לוֹ כְּבֶגֶד יַעֲטֶה וּלְמֵזַח תָּמִיד יַחְגְּרֶהָ׃

Tehi lo cheveged ya'ate, ulmezach tamid yachgereha.

May it be like a garment wrapped about him, like a belt he always wears.

זֹאת פְּעֻלַּת שֹׂטְנַי מֵאֵת יְהוָה וְהַדֹּבְרִים רָע עַל־נַפְשִׁי׃

Zot pe'ulat sotenai me'et Adonai, vehadoverim ra al nafshi.

May this be the LORD's reward to my accusers, to those who speak evil against me.

וְאַתָּה יְהוִה אֲדֹנָי עֲשֵׂה־אִתִּי לְמַעַן שְׁמֶךָ כִּי־טוֹב חַסְדְּךָ הַצִּילֵנִי׃

Ve'Ata Adonai Adonai, ase iti lema'an shemecha, ki tov chasdecha hatzileni.

But You, O LORD, my Lord, act on my behalf for Your name's sake; deliver me because of Your faithfulness.

כִּי־עָנִי וְאֶבְיוֹן אָנֹכִי וְלִבִּי חָלַל בְּקִרְבִּי׃

Ki ani ve'evyon anochi, velibi chalal bekirbi.

For I am poor and needy, and my heart is pierced within me.

כְּצֵל־כִּנְטוֹתוֹ נֶהֱלָכְתִּי נִנְעַרְתִּי כָּאַרְבֶּה׃

Ketzel kinoto nehelachti, nin'arti ka'arbeh.

I fade like a lengthening shadow; I am shaken off like locusts.

בִּרְכַּי כָּשְׁלוּ מִצּוֹם וּבְשָׂרִי כָּחַשׁ מִשָּׁמֶן׃

Birchai kashlu mitzom, uvsari kachash mishamen.

My knees give way from fasting; my flesh is lean, has lost its fat.

וַאֲנִי הָיִיתִי חֶרְפָּה לָהֶם יִרְאוּנִי יְנִיעוּן רֹאשָׁם׃

Va'ani hayiti cherpa lahem, yir'uni yeni'un rosham.

I have become a mockery to them; when they see me, they shake their heads.

עָזְרֵנִי יְהוָה אֱלֹהָי הוֹשִׁיעֵנִי כְחַסְדֶּךָ׃

Ozreni Adonai Elohai, hoshi'eni kechasdecha.

Help me, O LORD my God; save me according to Your faithfulness,

וְיֵדְעוּ כִּי־יָדְךָ זֹּאת אַתָּה יְהוָה עֲשִׂיתָהּ׃

Veyed'u ki yadcha zot, Ata Adonai asitah.

that they may know that this is Your doing, that You, O LORD, have done this.

יְקַלְלוּ־הֵמָּה וְאַתָּה תְבָרֵךְ קָמוּ וַיֵּבֹשׁוּ וְעַבְדְּךָ יִשְׂמָח׃

Yekalelu hema ve'Ata tevarech, kamu vayevoshu ve'avdecha yismach.

Let them curse, but You bless; may they rise up only to be ashamed, while Your servant rejoices.

יִלְבְּשׁוּ שׂוֹטְנַי כְּלִמָּה וְיַעֲטוּ כַמְעִיל בָּשְׁתָּם׃

Yilbeshu sotenai kelima, veya'atu cham'il boshtam.

May my accusers be clothed in shame, wrapped in their disgrace as in a robe.

אוֹדֶה יְהוָה מְאֹד בְּפִי וּבְתוֹךְ רַבִּים אֲהַלְלֶנּוּ׃

Ode Adonai me'od befi, uvetoch rabim ahalellenu.

I will greatly praise the LORD with my mouth; I will praise Him amid the throng,

כִּי־יַעֲמֹד לִימִין אֶבְיוֹן לְהוֹשִׁיעַ מִשֹּׁפְטֵי נַפְשׁוֹ׃

Ki ya'amod limin evyon, lehoshi'a mishoftei nafsho.

for He stands at the right hand of the needy, to save him from those who would condemn him.
