מִזְמוֹר לְדָוִד יְהוָה קְרָאתִיךָ חוּשָׁה לִּי הַאֲזִינָה קוֹלִי בְּקָרְאִי־לָךְ׃

Mizmor leDavid, Adonai keraticha chusha li, ha'azina koli bekori lach.

A psalm of David. I call to You, LORD, come quickly to me; hear me when I call to You.

תִּכּוֹן תְּפִלָּתִי קְטֹרֶת לְפָנֶיךָ מַשְׂאַת כַּפַּי מִנְחַת־עָרֶב׃

Tikon tefilati ketoret lefanecha, mas'at kapai minchat arev.

May my prayer be set before You like incense; may the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice.

שִׁיתָה יְהוָה שָׁמְרָה לְפִי נִצְּרָה עַל־דַּל שְׂפָתָי׃

Shita Adonai shomra lefi, nitzra al dal sfatai.

Set a guard over my mouth, LORD; keep watch over the door of my lips.

אַל־תַּט־לִבִּי לְדָבָר רָע לְהִתְעוֹלֵל עֲלִלוֹת בְּרֶשַׁע אֶת־אִישִׁים פֹּעֲלֵי־אָוֶן וּבַל־אֶלְחַם בְּמַנְעַמֵּיהֶם׃

Al tat libi ledavar ra, lehit'olel alilot beresha et ishim po'alei aven, uval elcham beman'ameihem.

Do not let my heart be drawn to what is evil so that I take part in wicked deeds along with those who are evildoers; do not let me eat their delicacies.

יֶהֶלְמֵנִי צַדִּיק חֶסֶד וְיוֹכִיחֵנִי שֶׁמֶן רֹאשׁ אַל־יָנִי רֹאשִׁי כִּי־עוֹד וּתְפִלָּתִי בְּרָעוֹתֵיהֶם׃

Yehalemeni tzadik chesed veyochicheni, shemen rosh al yani roshi, ki od utefilati bera'oteihem.

Let a righteous man strike me—that is a kindness; let him rebuke me—that is oil on my head. My head will not refuse it, for my prayer will still be against the deeds of evildoers.

נִשְׁמְטוּ בִידֵי־סֶלַע שֹׁפְטֵיהֶם וְשָׁמְעוּ אֲמָרַי כִּי נָעֵמוּ׃

Nishmet'u videi sela shofteihem, veshamu amarai ki na'emu.

Their rulers will be thrown down from the cliffs, and the wicked will learn that my words were well spoken.

כְּמוֹ פֹלֵחַ וּבֹקֵעַ בָּאָרֶץ נִפְזְרוּ עֲצָמֵינוּ לְפִי שְׁאוֹל׃

Kemo fole'ach uvoke'a ba'aretz, nifzeru atzameinu lefi she'ol.

They will say, 'As one plows and breaks up the earth, so our bones have been scattered at the mouth of the grave.'

כִּי אֵלֶיךָ יְהוִה אֲדֹנָי עֵינָי בְּכָה חָסִיתִי אַל־תְּעַר נַפְשִׁי׃

Ki elecha Adonai Adoni einai, becha chasiti, al te'ar nafshi.

But my eyes are fixed on You, Sovereign LORD; in You I take refuge—do not give me over to death.

שָׁמְרֵנִי מִידֵי פַח יָקְשׁוּ לִי וּמֹקְשׁוֹת פֹּעֲלֵי אָוֶן׃

Shomreni midei fach yakshu li, umokshot po'alei aven.

Keep me safe from the traps set by evildoers, from the snares they have laid for me.

יִפְּלוּ בְמַכְמֹרָיו רְשָׁעִים יַחַד אָנֹכִי עַד־אֶעֱבוֹר׃

Yiplu vemachmorav resha'im, yachad anochi ad e'evor.

Let the wicked fall into their own nets, while I pass by in safety.

מַשְׂכִּיל לְדָוִד בִּהְיוֹתוֹ בַמְּעָרָה תְפִלָּה׃

Maskil leDavid, bihyoto bam'ara, tefila.

A maskil of David. When he was in the cave. A prayer.

קוֹלִי אֶל־יְהוָה אֶזְעָק קוֹלִי אֶל־יְהוָה אֶתְחַנָּן׃

Koli el Adonai ez'ak, koli el Adonai etchanan.

I cry aloud to the LORD; I lift up my voice to the LORD for mercy.

אֶשְׁפֹּךְ לְפָנָיו שִׂיחִי צָרָתִי לְפָנָיו אַגִּיד׃

Eshpoch lefanav sichi, tzarati lefanav agid.

I pour out before Him my complaint; before Him I tell my trouble.

בְּהִתְעַטֵּף עָלַי רוּחִי וְאַתָּה יָדַעְתָּ נְתִיבָתִי בְּאֹרַח־זוּ אֲהַלֵּךְ טָמְנוּ פַח לִי׃

Behit'atef alai ruchi ve'ata yadata netivati, be'orach zu ahalech tamnu fach li.

When my spirit grows faint within me, it is You who watch over my way. In the path where I walk people have hidden a snare for me.

הַבֵּיט יָמִין וּרְאֵה וְאֵין־לִי מַכִּיר אָבַד מָנוֹס מִמֶּנִּי אֵין דּוֹרֵשׁ לְנַפְשִׁי׃

Habet yamin ur'e ve'ein li makir, avad manos mimeni, ein doresh lenafshi.

Look and see, there is no one at my right hand; no one is concerned for me. I have no refuge; no one cares for my life.

זָעַקְתִּי אֵלֶיךָ יְהוָה אָמַרְתִּי אַתָּה מַחְסִי חֶלְקִי בְּאֶרֶץ הַחַיִּים׃

Za'akti elecha Adonai, amarti ata machsi, chelki be'eretz hachayim.

I cry to You, LORD; I say, 'You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.'

הַקְשִׁיבָה אֶל־רִנָּתִי כִּי־דַלּוֹתִי מְאֹד הַצִּילֵנִי מֵרֹדְפַי כִּי אָמְצוּ מִמֶּנִּי׃

Hakshiva el rinati ki daloti me'od, hatzileni merod'fai ki amtzu mimeni.

Listen to my cry, for I am in desperate need; rescue me from those who pursue me, for they are too strong for me.

הוֹצִיאָה מִמַּסְגֵּר נַפְשִׁי לְהוֹדוֹת אֶת־שְׁמֶךָ בִּי יַכְתִּרוּ צַדִּיקִים כִּי תִגְמֹל עָלָי׃

Hotzi'a mimasger nafshi lehodot et shemecha, bi yachtiru tzadikim ki tigmol alai.

Set me free from my prison, that I may praise Your name. Then the righteous will gather about me because of Your goodness to me.

מִזְמוֹר לְדָוִד יְהוָה שְׁמַע תְּפִלָּתִי הַאֲזִינָה אֶל־תַּחֲנוּנַי בֶּאֱמֻנָתְךָ עֲנֵנִי בְּצִדְקָתֶךָ׃

Mizmor leDavid, Adonai shema tefilati, ha'azina el tachanunai, be'emunatcha aneni betzidkatecha.

A psalm of David. LORD, hear my prayer, listen to my cry for mercy; in Your faithfulness and righteousness come to my relief.

וְאַל־תָּבוֹא בְמִשְׁפָּט אֶת־עַבְדֶּךָ כִּי לֹא־יִצְדַּק לְפָנֶיךָ כָל־חָי׃

Ve'al tavo vemishpat et avdecha, ki lo yitzdak lefanecha kol chai.

Do not bring Your servant into judgment, for no one living is righteous before You.

כִּי רָדַף אוֹיֵב נַפְשִׁי דִּכָּא לָאָרֶץ חַיָּתִי הוֹשִׁיבַנִי בְמַחֲשַׁכִּים כְּמֵתֵי עוֹלָם׃

Ki radaf oyev nafshi, dika la'aretz chayati, hoshivani vemachashakkim kemetei olam.

The enemy pursues me, he crushes me to the ground; he makes me dwell in the darkness like those long dead.

וַתִּתְעַטֵּף עָלַי רוּחִי בְּתוֹכִי יִשְׁתּוֹמֵם לִבִּי׃

Vatit'atef alai ruchi, betochi yishtomem libi.

So my spirit grows faint within me; my heart within me is dismayed.

זָכַרְתִּי יָמִים מִקֶּדֶם הָגִיתִי בְכָל־פָּעֳלֶךָ בְּמַעֲשֵׂה יָדֶיךָ אֲשׂוֹחֵחַ׃

Zacharti yamim mikedem, hagiti vechol pa'olecha, bema'aseh yadecha aso'che'ach.

I remember the days of long ago; I meditate on all Your works and consider what Your hands have done.

פֵּרַשְׂתִּי יָדַי אֵלֶיךָ נַפְשִׁי כְּאֶרֶץ־עֲיֵפָה לְךָ סֶלָה׃

Perasti yadai elecha, nafshi ke'eretz ayefa lecha, Selah.

I spread out my hands to You; I thirst for You like a parched land.

מַהֵר עֲנֵנִי יְהוָה כָּלְתָה רוּחִי אַל־תַּסְתֵּר פָּנֶיךָ מִמֶּנִּי וְנִמְשַׁלְתִּי עִם־יֹרְדֵי בוֹר׃

Maher aneni Adonai, kalta ruchi, al taster panecha mimeni, venimshalti im yordei vor.

Answer me quickly, LORD; my spirit fails. Do not hide Your face from me or I will be like those who go down to the pit.

הַשְׁמִיעֵנִי בַבֹּקֶר חַסְדֶּךָ כִּי־בְךָ בָטָחְתִּי הוֹדִיעֵנִי דֶּרֶךְ־זוּ אֵלֵךְ כִּי־אֵלֶיךָ נָשָׂאתִי נַפְשִׁי׃

Hashmi'eni vaboker chasdecha, ki vecha vatachti, hodi'eni derech zu elech, ki elecha nasati nafshi.

Let the morning bring me word of Your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in You. Show me the way I should go, for to You I entrust my life.

הַצִּילֵנִי מֵאֹיְבַי יְהוָה אֵלֶיךָ כִסִּתִי׃

Hatzileni me'oyvai Adonai, elecha kisiti.

Rescue me from my enemies, LORD, for I hide myself in You.

לַמְּדֵנִי לַעֲשׂוֹת רְצוֹנֶךָ כִּי־אַתָּה אֱלוֹהָי רוּחֲךָ טוֹבָה תַּנְחֵנִי בְּאֶרֶץ מִישׁוֹר׃

Lamedeni la'asot retzonecha, ki ata Elohai, Ruchacha tova tancheni be'eretz mishor.

Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God; may Your good Spirit lead me on level ground.

לְמַעַן־שִׁמְךָ יְהוָה תְּחַיֵּנִי בְּצִדְקָתְךָ תוֹצִיא מִצָּרָה נַפְשִׁי׃

Lema'an shimcha Adonai techayeni, betzidkatecha totzi mitzara nafshi.

For Your name's sake, LORD, preserve my life; in Your righteousness, bring me out of trouble.

וּבְחַסְדְּךָ תַּצְמִית אֹיְבָי וְהַאֲבַדְתָּ כָּל־צֹרְרֵי נַפְשִׁי כִּי אֲנִי עַבְדֶּךָ׃

Uvechasdecha tatzmit oyvai, veha'avadta kol tzorerei nafshi, ki ani avdecha.

In Your unfailing love, silence my enemies; destroy all my foes, for I am Your servant.

לְדָוִד בָּרוּךְ יְהוָה צוּרִי הַמְלַמֵּד יָדַי לַקְרָב אֶצְבְּעוֹתַי לַמִּלְחָמָה׃

LeDavid, baruch Adonai tzuri, hamelamed yadai lakrav, etzbe'otai lamilchama.

Of David. Praise be to the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle.

חַסְדִּי וּמְצוּדָתִי מִשְׂגַּבִּי וּמְפַלְטִי־לִי מָגִנִּי וּבוֹ חָסִיתִי הָרוֹדֵד עַמִּי תַחְתָּי׃

Chasdi umetzudati, misgabi umfalti li, magini uvo chasiti, haroded ami tachtai.

He is my loving God and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield, in whom I take refuge, who subdues peoples under me.

יְהוָה מָה־אָדָם וַתֵּדָעֵהוּ בֶּן־אֱנוֹשׁ וַתְּחַשְּׁבֵהוּ׃

Adonai ma adam vateda'ehu, ben enosh vatchashvehu.

LORD, what are human beings that You care for them, mere mortals that You think of them?

אָדָם לַהֶבֶל דָּמָה יָמָיו כְּצֵל עוֹבֵר׃

Adam lahevel dama, yamav ketzel over.

They are like a breath; their days are like a fleeting shadow.

יְהוָה הַט־שָׁמֶיךָ וְתֵרֵד גַּע בֶּהָרִים וְיֶעֱשָׁנוּ׃

Adonai hat shamecha vetered, ga beharim veye'eshanu.

Part Your heavens, LORD, and come down; touch the mountains, so that they smoke.

בְּרוֹק בָּרָק וּתְפִיצֵם שְׁלַח חִצֶּיךָ וּתְהֻמֵּם׃

Berok barak utefitzem, shlach chitzecha uthumem.

Send forth lightning and scatter the enemy; shoot Your arrows and rout them.

שְׁלַח יָדֶיךָ מִמָּרוֹם פְּצֵנִי וְהַצִּילֵנִי מִמַּיִם רַבִּים מִיַּד בְּנֵי נֵכָר׃

Shlach yadecha mimarom, petzeni vehatzileni mimayim rabim, miyad benei nechar.

Reach down Your hand from on high; deliver me and rescue me from the mighty waters, from the hands of foreigners

אֲשֶׁר פִּיהֶם דִּבֶּר־שָׁוְא וִימִינָם יְמִין שָׁקֶר׃

Asher pihem diber shav, viminam yemin shaker.

whose mouths are full of lies, whose right hands are deceitful.

אֱלֹהִים שִׁיר חָדָשׁ אָשִׁירָה לָּךְ בְּנֵבֶל עָשׂוֹר אֲזַמְּרָה־לָּךְ׃

Elohim shir chadash ashira lach, benevel asor azamra lach.

I will sing a new song to You, my God; on the ten-stringed lyre I will make music to You,

הַנּוֹתֵן תְּשׁוּעָה לַמְּלָכִים הַפּוֹצֶה אֶת־דָּוִד עַבְדּוֹ מֵחֶרֶב רָעָה׃

Hanoten teshu'a lamelachim, hapotze et David avdo mecherev ra'a.

to the One who gives victory to kings, who delivers His servant David.

פְּצֵנִי וְהַצִּילֵנִי מִיַּד בְּנֵי־נֵכָר אֲשֶׁר פִּיהֶם דִּבֶּר־שָׁוְא וִימִינָם יְמִין שָׁקֶר׃

Petzeni vehatzileni miyad benei nechar, asher pihem diber shav, viminam yemin shaker.

From the deadly sword deliver me; rescue me from the hands of foreigners whose mouths are full of lies, whose right hands are deceitful.

אֲשֶׁר בָּנֵינוּ כִּנְטִעִים מְגֻדָּלִים בִּנְעוּרֵיהֶם בְּנוֹתֵינוּ כְזָוִיֹּת מְחֻטָּבוֹת תַּבְנִית הֵיכָל׃

Asher baneinu kinti'im megudalim bin'ureihem, benoteinu chezaviyot mechutavot tavnit heichal.

Then our sons in their youth will be like well-nurtured plants, and our daughters will be like pillars carved to adorn a palace.

מְזָוֵינוּ מְלֵאִים מְפִיקִים מִזַּן אֶל־זַן צֹאונֵנוּ מַאֲלִיפוֹת מְרֻבָּבוֹת בְּחוּצוֹתֵינוּ׃

Mezaveinu mele'im mefikim mizan el zan, tzonenu ma'alifot merubavot bechutzoteinu.

Our barns will be filled with every kind of provision. Our sheep will increase by thousands, by tens of thousands in our fields;

אַלּוּפֵינוּ מְסֻבָּלִים אֵין־פֶּרֶץ וְאֵין יוֹצֵאת וְאֵין צְוָחָה בִּרְחֹבֹתֵינוּ׃

Alufeinu mesubalim, ein peretz ve'ein yotzet, ve'ein tzvacha bircho­voteinu.

our oxen will draw heavy loads. There will be no breaching of walls, no going into captivity, no cry of distress in our streets.

אַשְׁרֵי הָעָם שֶׁכָּכָה לּוֹ אַשְׁרֵי הָעָם שֶׁיְהוָה אֱלֹהָיו׃

Ashrei ha'am shekakha lo, ashrei ha'am sheAdonai Elohav.

Blessed is the people of whom this is true; blessed is the people whose God is the LORD.

תְּהִלָּה לְדָוִד אֲרוֹמִמְךָ אֱלוֹהַי הַמֶּלֶךְ וַאֲבָרְכָה שִׁמְךָ לְעוֹלָם וָעֶד׃

Tehila leDavid, aromimcha Elohai haMelech, va'avarcha shimcha le'olam va'ed.

A psalm of praise. Of David. I will exalt You, my God the King; I will praise Your name forever and ever.

בְּכָל־יוֹם אֲבָרְכֶךָּ וַאֲהַלְלָה שִׁמְךָ לְעוֹלָם וָעֶד׃

Bechol yom avarecheka, va'ahalela shimcha le'olam va'ed.

Every day I will praise You and extol Your name forever and ever.

גָּדוֹל יְהוָה וּמְהֻלָּל מְאֹד וְלִגְדֻלָּתוֹ אֵין חֵקֶר׃

Gadol Adonai umhulal me'od, veligdulato ein cheker.

Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; His greatness no one can fathom.

דּוֹר לְדוֹר יְשַׁבַּח מַעֲשֶׂיךָ וּגְבוּרֹתֶיךָ יַגִּידוּ׃

Dor ledor yeshabach ma'asecha, ugvurotecha yagidu.

One generation commends Your works to another; they tell of Your mighty acts.

הֲדַר כְּבוֹד הוֹדֶךָ וְדִבְרֵי נִפְלְאוֹתֶיךָ אָשִׂיחָה׃

Hadar kevod hodecha, vedivrei nifl'otecha asicha.

They speak of the glorious splendor of Your majesty—and I will meditate on Your wonderful works.

וֶעֱזוּז נוֹרְאֹתֶיךָ יֹאמֵרוּ וּגְדֻלָּתְךָ אֲסַפְּרֶנָּה׃

Ve'ezuz norotecha yomeru, ugdulatcha asaprena.

They tell of the power of Your awesome works—and I will proclaim Your great deeds.

זֵכֶר רַב־טוּבְךָ יַבִּיעוּ וְצִדְקָתְךָ יְרַנֵּנוּ׃

Zecher rav tuvcha yabi'u, vetzidkatcha yeranenu.

They celebrate Your abundant goodness and joyfully sing of Your righteousness.

חַנּוּן וְרַחוּם יְהוָה אֶרֶךְ אַפַּיִם וּגְדָל־חָסֶד׃

Chanun verachum Adonai, erech apayim ugdal chesed.

The LORD is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love.

טוֹב־יְהוָה לַכֹּל וְרַחֲמָיו עַל־כָּל־מַעֲשָׂיו׃

Tov Adonai lakol, verachamav al kol ma'asav.

The LORD is good to all; He has compassion on all He has made.

יוֹדוּךָ יְהוָה כָּל־מַעֲשֶׂיךָ וַחֲסִידֶיךָ יְבָרְכוּכָה׃

Yoducha Adonai kol ma'asecha, vachasidecha yevaruchucha.

All Your works praise You, LORD; Your faithful people extol You.

כְּבוֹד מַלְכוּתְךָ יֹאמֵרוּ וּגְבוּרָתְךָ יְדַבֵּרוּ׃

Kevod malchutcha yomeru, ugvuratcha yedaberu.

They tell of the glory of Your kingdom and speak of Your might,

לְהוֹדִיעַ לִבְנֵי הָאָדָם גְּבוּרֹתָיו וּכְבוֹד הֲדַר מַלְכוּתוֹ׃

Lehodi'a livnei ha'adam gevurotav, uchvod hadar malchuto.

so that all people may know of Your mighty acts and the glorious splendor of Your kingdom.

מַלְכוּתְךָ מַלְכוּת כָּל־עֹלָמִים וּמֶמְשַׁלְתְּךָ בְּכָל־דּוֹר וָדוֹר׃

Malchutcha malchut kol olamim, umemshalrecha bechol dor vador.

Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and Your dominion endures through all generations.

סוֹמֵךְ יְהוָה לְכָל־הַנֹּפְלִים וְזוֹקֵף לְכָל־הַכְּפוּפִים׃

Somech Adonai lechol hanof'lim, vezokef lechol hakefufim.

The LORD upholds all who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down.

עֵינֵי־כֹל אֵלֶיךָ יְשַׂבֵּרוּ וְאַתָּה נוֹתֵן־לָהֶם אֶת־אָכְלָם בְּעִתּוֹ׃

Einei chol elecha yesaberu, ve'ata noten lahem et ochlam be'ito.

The eyes of all look to You, and You give them their food at the proper time.

פּוֹתֵחַ אֶת־יָדֶךָ וּמַשְׂבִּיעַ לְכָל־חַי רָצוֹן׃

Pote'ach et yadecha, umasbi'a lechol chai ratzon.

You open Your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing.

צַדִּיק יְהוָה בְּכָל־דְּרָכָיו וְחָסִיד בְּכָל־מַעֲשָׂיו׃

Tzadik Adonai bechol derachav, vechasid bechol ma'asav.

The LORD is righteous in all His ways and faithful in all He does.

קָרוֹב יְהוָה לְכָל־קֹרְאָיו לְכֹל אֲשֶׁר יִקְרָאֻהוּ בֶאֱמֶת׃

Karov Adonai lechol kor'av, lechol asher yikra'uhu ve'emet.

The LORD is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth.

רְצוֹן־יְרֵאָיו יַעֲשֶׂה וְאֶת־שַׁוְעָתָם יִשְׁמַע וְיוֹשִׁיעֵם׃

Retzon yere'av ya'aseh, ve'et shav'atam yishma veyoshi'em.

He fulfills the desires of those who fear Him; He hears their cry and saves them.

שׁוֹמֵר יְהוָה אֶת־כָּל־אֹהֲבָיו וְאֵת כָּל־הָרְשָׁעִים יַשְׁמִיד׃

Shomer Adonai et kol ohavav, ve'et kol haresha'im yashmid.

The LORD watches over all who love Him, but all the wicked He will destroy.

תְּהִלַּת יְהוָה יְדַבֶּר־פִּי וִיבָרֵךְ כָּל־בָּשָׂר שֵׁם קָדְשׁוֹ לְעוֹלָם וָעֶד׃

Tehilat Adonai yedaber pi, vivarech kol basar shem kodsho le'olam va'ed.

My mouth will speak in praise of the LORD. Let every creature praise His holy name forever and ever.

הַלְלוּ־יָהּ הַלְלִי נַפְשִׁי אֶת־יְהוָה׃

Halelu-Yah, haleli nafshi et Adonai.

Praise the LORD. Praise the LORD, my soul.

אֲהַלְלָה יְהוָה בְּחַיָּי אֲזַמְּרָה לֵאלֹהַי בְּעוֹדִי׃

Ahalela Adonai bechayai, azamera lElohai be'odi.

I will praise the LORD all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.

אַל־תִּבְטְחוּ בִנְדִיבִים בְּבֶן־אָדָם שֶׁאֵין לוֹ תְשׁוּעָה׃

Al tivtechu vindivim, beven adam she'ein lo teshu'a.

Do not put your trust in princes, in human beings, who cannot save.

תֵּצֵא רוּחוֹ יָשֻׁב לְאַדְמָתוֹ בַּיּוֹם הַהוּא אָבְדוּ עֶשְׁתֹּנֹתָיו׃

Tetze rucho yashuv le'admato, bayom hahu avdu eshtonotav.

When their spirit departs, they return to the ground; on that very day their plans come to nothing.

אַשְׁרֵי שֶׁאֵל יַעֲקֹב בְּעֶזְרוֹ שִׂבְרוֹ עַל־יְהוָה אֱלֹהָיו׃

Ashrei she'El Ya'akov be'ezro, sivro al Adonai Elohav.

Blessed are those whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD their God.

עֹשֶׂה שָׁמַיִם וָאָרֶץ אֶת־הַיָּם וְאֶת־כָּל־אֲשֶׁר־בָּם הַשֹּׁמֵר אֱמֶת לְעוֹלָם׃

Oseh shamayim va'aretz, et hayam ve'et kol asher bam, hashomer emet le'olam.

He is the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them—He remains faithful forever.

עֹשֶׂה מִשְׁפָּט לָעֲשׁוּקִים נֹתֵן לֶחֶם לָרְעֵבִים יְהוָה מַתִּיר אֲסוּרִים׃

Oseh mishpat la'ashukim, noten lechem lare'evim, Adonai matir asurim.

He upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The LORD sets prisoners free,

יְהוָה פֹּקֵחַ עִוְרִים יְהוָה זֹקֵף כְּפוּפִים יְהוָה אֹהֵב צַדִּיקִים׃

Adonai poke'ach ivrim, Adonai zokef kefufim, Adonai ohev tzadikim.

the LORD gives sight to the blind, the LORD lifts up those who are bowed down, the LORD loves the righteous.

יְהוָה שֹׁמֵר אֶת־גֵּרִים יָתוֹם וְאַלְמָנָה יְעוֹדֵד וְדֶרֶךְ רְשָׁעִים יְעַוֵּת׃

Adonai shomer et gerim, yatom ve'almana ye'oded, vederech resha'im ye'avet.

The LORD watches over the foreigner and sustains the fatherless and the widow, but He frustrates the ways of the wicked.

יִמְלֹךְ יְהוָה לְעוֹלָם אֱלֹהַיִךְ צִיּוֹן לְדֹר וָדֹר הַלְלוּ־יָהּ׃

Yimloch Adonai le'olam, Elohayich Tziyon ledor vador, Halelu-Yah.

The LORD reigns forever, your God, O Zion, for all generations. Praise the LORD.

הַלְלוּ־יָהּ כִּי־טוֹב זַמְּרָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ כִּי־נָעִים נָאוָה תְהִלָּה׃

Halelu-Yah, ki tov zamra Eloheinu, ki na'im nava tehila.

Praise the LORD. How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise Him!

בּוֹנֵה יְרוּשָׁלַיִם יְהוָה נִדְחֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל יְכַנֵּס׃

Boneh Yerushalayim Adonai, nidchei Yisrael yechanes.

The LORD builds up Jerusalem; He gathers the exiles of Israel.

הָרֹפֵא לִשְׁבוּרֵי לֵב וּמְחַבֵּשׁ לְעַצְּבוֹתָם׃

Harofe lishvurei lev, umechabesh le'atzvotam.

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

מוֹנֶה מִסְפָּר לַכּוֹכָבִים לְכֻלָּם שֵׁמוֹת יִקְרָא׃

Moneh mispar lakochavim, lechulam shemot yikra.

He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name.

גָּדוֹל אֲדוֹנֵינוּ וְרַב־כֹּחַ לִתְבוּנָתוֹ אֵין מִסְפָּר׃

Gadol Adoneinu verav ko'ach, litvunato ein mispar.

Great is our Lord and mighty in power; His understanding has no limit.

מְעוֹדֵד עֲנָוִים יְהוָה מַשְׁפִּיל רְשָׁעִים עֲדֵי־אָרֶץ׃

Me'oded anavim Adonai, mashpil resha'im adei aretz.

The LORD sustains the humble but casts the wicked to the ground.

עֱנוּ לַיהוָה בְּתוֹדָה זַמְּרוּ לֵאלֹהֵינוּ בְכִנּוֹר׃

Enu laAdonai betoda, zamru lEloheinu vechinor.

Sing to the LORD with grateful praise; make music to our God on the harp.

הַמְכַסֶּה שָׁמַיִם בְּעָבִים הַמֵּכִין לָאָרֶץ מָטָר הַמַּצְמִיחַ הָרִים חָצִיר׃

Hamechaseh shamayim be'avim, hamechin la'aretz matar, hamatzmi'ach harim chatzir.

He covers the sky with clouds; He supplies the earth with rain and makes grass grow on the hills.

נוֹתֵן לִבְהֵמָה לַחְמָהּ לִבְנֵי עֹרֵב אֲשֶׁר יִקְרָאוּ׃

Noten livhema lachma, livnei orev asher yikra'u.

He provides food for the cattle and for the young ravens when they call.

לֹא בִגְבוּרַת הַסּוּס יֶחְפָּץ לֹא־בְשׁוֹקֵי הָאִישׁ יִרְצֶה׃

Lo vigvurat hasus yechpatz, lo beshokei ha'ish yirtze.

His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse, nor His delight in the legs of the warrior;

רוֹצֶה יְהוָה אֶת־יְרֵאָיו אֶת־הַמְיַחֲלִים לְחַסְדּוֹ׃

Rotze Adonai et yere'av, et hamyachalim lechasdo.

the LORD delights in those who fear Him, who put their hope in His unfailing love.

שַׁבְּחִי יְרוּשָׁלַיִם אֶת־יְהוָה הַלְלִי אֱלֹהַיִךְ צִיּוֹן׃

Shabchi Yerushalayim et Adonai, haleli Elohayich Tziyon.

Extol the LORD, Jerusalem; praise your God, Zion.

כִּי־חִזַּק בְּרִיחֵי שְׁעָרָיִךְ בֵּרַךְ בָּנַיִךְ בְּקִרְבֵּךְ׃

Ki chizak berichei she'arayich, berach banayich bekirbech.

He strengthens the bars of your gates and blesses your people within you.

הַשָּׂם־גְּבוּלֵךְ שָׁלוֹם חֵלֶב חִטִּים יַשְׂבִּיעֵךְ׃

Hasam gevulech shalom, chelev chitim yasbi'ech.

He grants peace to your borders and satisfies you with the finest of wheat.

הַשֹּׁלֵחַ אִמְרָתוֹ אָרֶץ עַד־מְהֵרָה יָרוּץ דְּבָרוֹ׃

Hashole'ach imrato aretz, ad mehera yarutz devaro.

He sends His command to the earth; His word runs swiftly.

הַנֹּתֵן שֶׁלֶג כַּצָּמֶר כְּפוֹר כָּאֵפֶר יְפַזֵּר׃

Hanoten sheleg katzamer, kefor ka'efer yefazer.

He spreads the snow like wool and scatters the frost like ashes.

מַשְׁלִיךְ קַרְחוֹ כְפִתִּים לִפְנֵי קָרָתוֹ מִי יַעֲמֹד׃

Mashlich karcho chefitim, lifnei karato mi ya'amod.

He hurls down His hail like pebbles. Who can withstand His icy blast?

יִשְׁלַח דְּבָרוֹ וְיַמְסֵם יַשֵּׁב רוּחוֹ יִזְּלוּ־מָיִם׃

Yishlach devaro veyamsem, yashev rucho yizlu mayim.

He sends His word and melts them; He stirs up His breezes, and the waters flow.

מַגִּיד דְּבָרָיו לְיַעֲקֹב חֻקָּיו וּמִשְׁפָּטָיו לְיִשְׂרָאֵל׃

Magid devarav leYa'akov, chukav umishpatav leYisrael.

He has revealed His word to Jacob, His laws and decrees to Israel.

לֹא עָשָׂה כֵן לְכָל־גּוֹי וּמִשְׁפָּטִים בַּל־יְדָעוּם הַלְלוּ־יָהּ׃

Lo asa chen lechol goy, umishpatim bal yeda'um, Halelu-Yah.

He has done this for no other nation; they do not know His laws. Praise the LORD.

הַלְלוּ־יָהּ הַלְלוּ אֶת־יְהוָה מִן־הַשָּׁמַיִם הַלְלוּהוּ בַּמְּרוֹמִים׃

Halelu-Yah, halelu et Adonai min hashamayim, haleluhu bameromim.

Praise the LORD. Praise the LORD from the heavens; praise Him in the heights above.

הַלְלוּהוּ כָל־מַלְאָכָיו הַלְלוּהוּ כָּל־צְבָאָיו׃

Haleluhu kol mal'achav, haleluhu kol tzeva'av.

Praise Him, all His angels; praise Him, all His heavenly hosts.

הַלְלוּהוּ שֶׁמֶשׁ וְיָרֵחַ הַלְלוּהוּ כָּל־כּוֹכְבֵי אוֹר׃

Haleluhu shemesh veyare'ach, haleluhu kol kochvei or.

Praise Him, sun and moon; praise Him, all you shining stars.

הַלְלוּהוּ שְׁמֵי הַשָּׁמָיִם וְהַמַּיִם אֲשֶׁר מֵעַל הַשָּׁמָיִם׃

Haleluhu shemei hashamayim, vehamayim asher me'al hashamayim.

Praise Him, you highest heavens and you waters above the skies.

יְהַלְלוּ אֶת־שֵׁם יְהוָה כִּי הוּא צִוָּה וְנִבְרָאוּ׃

Yehalelu et shem Adonai, ki hu tziva venivra'u.

Let them praise the name of the LORD, for at His command they were created,

וַיַּעֲמִידֵם לָעַד לְעוֹלָם חָק־נָתַן וְלֹא יַעֲבוֹר׃

Vaya'amidem la'ad le'olam, chok natan velo ya'avor.

and He established them forever and ever—He issued a decree that will never pass away.

הַלְלוּ אֶת־יְהוָה מִן־הָאָרֶץ תַּנִּינִים וְכָל־תְּהֹמוֹת׃

Halelu et Adonai min ha'aretz, taninim vechol tehomot.

Praise the LORD from the earth, you great sea creatures and all ocean depths,

אֵשׁ וּבָרָד שֶׁלֶג וְקִיטוֹר רוּחַ סְעָרָה עֹשָׂה דְבָרוֹ׃

Esh uvarad sheleg vekitor, ru'ach se'ara osa devaro.

lightning and hail, snow and clouds, stormy winds that do His bidding,

הֶהָרִים וְכָל־גְּבָעוֹת עֵץ פְּרִי וְכָל־אֲרָזִים׃

Heharim vechol geva'ot, etz pri vechol arazim.

you mountains and all hills, fruit trees and all cedars,

הַחַיָּה וְכָל־בְּהֵמָה רֶמֶשׂ וְצִפּוֹר כָּנָף׃

Hachaya vechol behema, remes vetzipor kanaf.

wild animals and all cattle, small creatures and flying birds,

מַלְכֵי־אֶרֶץ וְכָל־לְאֻמִּים שָׂרִים וְכָל־שֹׁפְטֵי אָרֶץ׃

Malchei eretz vechol le'umim, sarim vechol shoftei aretz.

kings of the earth and all nations, you princes and all rulers on earth,

בַּחוּרִים וְגַם־בְּתוּלוֹת זְקֵנִים עִם־נְעָרִים׃

Bachurim vegam betulot, zekenim im ne'arim.

young men and women, old men and children.

יְהַלְלוּ אֶת־שֵׁם יְהוָה כִּי־נִשְׂגָּב שְׁמוֹ לְבַדּוֹ הוֹדוֹ עַל־אֶרֶץ וְשָׁמָיִם׃

Yehalelu et shem Adonai, ki nisgav shemo levado, hodo al eretz veshamayim.

Let them praise the name of the LORD, for His name alone is exalted; His splendor is above the earth and the heavens.

וַיָּרֶם קֶרֶן לְעַמּוֹ תְּהִלָּה לְכָל־חֲסִידָיו לִבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל עַם־קְרֹבוֹ הַלְלוּ־יָהּ׃

Vayarem keren le'amo, tehila lechol chasidav, livnei Yisrael am kerovo, Halelu-Yah.

And He has raised up for His people a horn, the praise of all His faithful servants, of Israel, the people close to His heart. Praise the LORD.

הַלְלוּ־יָהּ שִׁירוּ לַיהוָה שִׁיר חָדָשׁ תְּהִלָּתוֹ בִּקְהַל חֲסִידִים׃

Halelu-Yah, shiru laAdonai shir chadash, tehilato bikhal chasidim.

Praise the LORD. Sing to the LORD a new song, His praise in the assembly of His faithful people.

יִשְׂמַח יִשְׂרָאֵל בְּעֹשָׂיו בְּנֵי־צִיּוֹן יָגִילוּ בְמַלְכָּם׃

Yismach Yisrael be'osav, bnei Tziyon yagilu vemalcam.

Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; let the people of Zion be glad in their King.

יְהַלְלוּ שְׁמוֹ בְמָחוֹל בְּתֹף וְכִנּוֹר יְזַמְּרוּ־לוֹ׃

Yehalelu shemo vemachol, betof vechinor yezamru lo.

Let them praise His name with dancing and make music to Him with timbrel and harp.

כִּי־רוֹצֶה יְהוָה בְּעַמּוֹ יְפָאֵר עֲנָוִים בִּישׁוּעָה׃

Ki rotze Adonai be'amo, yefa'er anavim bishu'a.

For the LORD takes delight in His people; He crowns the humble with victory.

יַעְלְזוּ חֲסִידִים בְּכָבוֹד יְרַנְּנוּ עַל־מִשְׁכְּבוֹתָם׃

Ya'lezu chasidim bechavod, yeranenu al mishkevotam.

Let His faithful people rejoice in this honor and sing for joy on their beds.

רוֹמְמוֹת אֵל בִּגְרוֹנָם וְחֶרֶב פִּיפִיּוֹת בְּיָדָם׃

Romemot El bigronam, vecherev pifiyot beyadam.

May the praise of God be in their mouths and a double-edged sword in their hands,

לַעֲשׂוֹת נְקָמָה בַּגּוֹיִם תּוֹכֵחוֹת בַּלְאֻמִּים׃

La'asot nekama bagoyim, tochechot bal'umim.

to inflict vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples,

לֶאְסֹר מַלְכֵיהֶם בְּזִקִּים וְנִכְבְּדֵיהֶם בְּכַבְלֵי בַרְזֶל׃

Le'esor malcheihem bezikim, venichbedeihem bechavlei varzel.

to bind their kings with fetters, their nobles with shackles of iron,

לַעֲשׂוֹת בָּהֶם מִשְׁפָּט כָּתוּב הָדָר הוּא לְכָל־חֲסִידָיו הַלְלוּ־יָהּ׃

La'asot bahem mishpat katuv, hadar hu lechol chasidav, Halelu-Yah.

to carry out the sentence written against them—this is the glory of all His faithful people. Praise the LORD.

הַלְלוּ־יָהּ הַלְלוּ־אֵל בְּקָדְשׁוֹ הַלְלוּהוּ בִּרְקִיעַ עֻזּוֹ׃

Halelu-Yah, halelu El bekodsho, haleluhu birki'a uzo.

Praise the LORD. Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in His mighty heavens.

הַלְלוּהוּ בִגְבוּרֹתָיו הַלְלוּהוּ כְּרֹב גֻּדְלוֹ׃

Haleluhu vigvurotav, haleluhu kerov gudlo.

Praise Him for His acts of power; praise Him for His surpassing greatness.

הַלְלוּהוּ בְּתֵקַע שׁוֹפָר הַלְלוּהוּ בְּנֵבֶל וְכִנּוֹר׃

Haleluhu beteka shofar, haleluhu benevel vechinor.

Praise Him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise Him with the harp and lyre,

הַלְלוּהוּ בְּתֹף וּמָחוֹל הַלְלוּהוּ בְּמִנִּים וְעֻגָב׃

Haleluhu betof umachol, haleluhu beminim ve'ugav.

praise Him with timbrel and dancing, praise Him with the strings and pipe,

הַלְלוּהוּ בְצִלְצְלֵי־שָׁמַע הַלְלוּהוּ בְּצִלְצְלֵי תְרוּעָה׃

Haleluhu betziltzlei shama, haleluhu betziltzlei teru'a.

praise Him with the clash of cymbals, praise Him with resounding cymbals.

כֹּל הַנְּשָׁמָה תְּהַלֵּל יָהּ הַלְלוּ־יָהּ׃

Kol haneshama tehalel Yah, Halelu-Yah.

Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD.
