תהילים פרק צ״ד

אֵל־נְקָמוֹת יְהוָה אֵל נְקָמוֹת הוֹפִיעַ׃

El nekamot Adonai, El nekamot hofia.

God of retribution, LORD, God of retribution, appear!

הִנָּשֵׂא שֹׁפֵט הָאָרֶץ הָשֵׁב גְּמוּל עַל־גֵּאִים׃

Hinase shofet ha'aretz, hashev gemul al ge'im.

Rise up, judge of the earth, give the arrogant their deserts!

עַד־מָתַי רְשָׁעִים יְהוָה עַד־מָתַי רְשָׁעִים יַעֲלֹזוּ׃

Ad matai resha'im Adonai, ad matai resha'im ya'alozu.

How long shall the wicked, O LORD, how long shall the wicked exult?

יַבִּיעוּ יְדַבְּרוּ עָתָק יִתְאַמְּרוּ כָּל־פֹּעֲלֵי אָוֶן׃

Yabi'u yedabru atak, yit'amru kol po'alei aven.

They utter insolent speech; all the evildoers speak arrogantly.

עַמְּךָ יְהוָה יְדַכְּאוּ וְנַחֲלָתְךָ יְעַנּוּ׃

Amcha Adonai yedak'u, venachalatcha ye'anu.

They crush Your people, O LORD, they afflict Your inheritance.

אַלְמָנָה וְגֵר יַהֲרֹגוּ וִיתוֹמִים יְרַצֵּחוּ׃

Almana veger yaharogu, vitomim yeratzeichu.

They kill the widow and the stranger; they murder the fatherless.

וַיֹּאמְרוּ לֹא יִרְאֶה־יָּהּ וְלֹא־יָבִין אֱלֹהֵי יַעֲקֹב׃

Vayomru lo yir'e Yah, velo yavin Elohei Ya'akov.

Thinking, 'The LORD does not see it, the God of Jacob does not pay heed.'

בִּינוּ בֹּעֲרִים בָּעָם וּכְסִילִים מָתַי תַּשְׂכִּילוּ׃

Binu bo'arim ba'am, uchsilim matai taskilu.

Take heed, you most brutish people; fools, when will you get wisdom?

הֲנֹטַע אֹזֶן הֲלֹא יִשְׁמָע אִם־יֹצֵר עַיִן הֲלֹא יַבִּיט׃

Hanota ozen halo yishma, im yotzer ayin halo yabit.

Shall He who implants the ear not hear, He who forms the eye not see?

הֲיֹסֵר גּוֹיִם הֲלֹא יוֹכִיחַ הַמְלַמֵּד אָדָם דָּעַת׃

Hayoser goyim halo yochi'ach, hamelamed adam da'at.

Shall He who disciplines nations not punish, He who instructs mankind in knowledge?

יְהוָה יֹדֵעַ מַחְשְׁבוֹת אָדָם כִּי־הֵמָּה הָבֶל׃

Adonai yodea machshevot adam, ki hema havel.

The LORD knows the thoughts of man, that they are futile.

אַשְׁרֵי הַגֶּבֶר אֲשֶׁר־תְּיַסְּרֶנּוּ יָּהּ וּמִתּוֹרָתְךָ תְלַמְּדֶנּוּ׃

Ashrei hagever asher teyasrenu Yah, umitoratcha telamdenu.

Happy is the man whom You discipline, O LORD, the man You instruct in Your teaching,

לְהַשְׁקִיט לוֹ מִימֵי רָע עַד יִכָּרֶה לָרָשָׁע שָׁחַת׃

Lehashkit lo mimei ra, ad yikareh larasha shachat.

to give him tranquility in times of misfortune, until a pit be dug for the wicked.

כִּי לֹא־יִטֹּשׁ יְהוָה עַמּוֹ וְנַחֲלָתוֹ לֹא יַעֲזֹב׃

Ki lo yitosh Adonai amo, venachalato lo ya'azov.

For the LORD will not forsake His people; He will not abandon His inheritance.

כִּי־עַד־צֶדֶק יָשׁוּב מִשְׁפָּט וְאַחֲרָיו כָּל־יִשְׁרֵי־לֵב׃

Ki ad tzedek yashuv mishpat, ve'acharav kol yishrei lev.

For judgment shall return to righteousness, and all the upright in heart shall follow it.

מִי־יָקוּם לִי עִם־מְרֵעִים מִי־יִתְיַצֵּב לִי עִם־פֹּעֲלֵי אָוֶן׃

Mi yakum li im mere'im, mi yityatzev li im po'alei aven.

Who will take my part against evildoers? Who will stand up for me against wrongdoers?

לוּלֵי יְהוָה עֶזְרָתָה לִּי כִּמְעַט שָׁכְנָה דוּמָה נַפְשִׁי׃

Lulei Adonai ezrata li, kim'at shachna duma nafshi.

Were not the LORD my help, I would soon dwell in silence.

אִם־אָמַרְתִּי מָטָה רַגְלִי חַסְדְּךָ יְהוָה יִסְעָדֵנִי׃

Im amarti mata ragli, chasdecha Adonai yis'adeni.

When I think that my foot has given way, Your faithfulness, O LORD, supports me.

בְּרֹב שַׂרְעַפַּי בְּקִרְבִּי תַּנְחוּמֶיךָ יְשַׁעַשְׁעוּ נַפְשִׁי׃

Berov sar'apai bekirbi, tanchumecha yesha'ash'u nafshi.

When I am filled with cares, Your assurance soothes my soul.

הַיְחָבְרְךָ כִּסֵּא הַוּוֹת יֹצֵר עָמָל עֲלֵי־חֹק׃

Hayechavercha kise havot, yotzer amal alei chok.

Shall the throne of wickedness be Your partner, that creates mischief by statute?

יָגוֹדּוּ עַל־נֶפֶשׁ צַדִּיק וְדָם נָקִי יַרְשִׁיעוּ׃

Yagodu al nefesh tzadik, vedam naki yarshi'u.

They band together against the life of the righteous, and condemn innocent blood.

וַיְהִי יְהוָה לִי לְמִשְׂגָּב וֵאלֹהַי לְצוּר מַחְסִי׃

Vayehi Adonai li lemisgav, vElohai letzur machsi.

But the LORD is my stronghold; my God, the rock wherein I take refuge.

וַיָּשֶׁב עֲלֵיהֶם אֶת־אוֹנָם וּבְרָעָתָם יַצְמִיתֵם יַצְמִיתֵם יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ׃

Vayashev aleihem et onam, uverа'atam yatzmitem, yatzmitem Adonai Eloheinu.

He will turn their own evil against them, and annihilate them through their own wickedness; the LORD our God will annihilate them.
