תהילים פרק פ״ח

שִׁיר מִזְמוֹר לִבְנֵי קֹרַח לַמְנַצֵּחַ עַל־מָחֲלַת לְעַנּוֹת מַשְׂכִּיל לְהֵימָן הָאֶזְרָחִי׃

Shir mizmor livnei Korach, lamnatzei'ach al machalat le'anot, maskil leHeiman ha'Ezrachi.

A song. A psalm of the Korahites. For the leader; on mahalath leannoth. A maskil of Heman the Ezrahite.

יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵי יְשׁוּעָתִי יוֹם־צָעַקְתִּי בַלַּיְלָה נֶגְדֶּךָ׃

Adonai Elohei yeshu'ati, yom tza'akti balayla negdecha.

O LORD, God of my deliverance, when I cry out in the night before You,

תָּבוֹא לְפָנֶיךָ תְּפִלָּתִי הַטֵּה־אָזְנְךָ לְרִנָּתִי׃

Tavo lefanecha tefilati, hate oznecha lerinati.

let my prayer reach You; incline Your ear to my cry.

כִּי־שָׂבְעָה בְרָעוֹת נַפְשִׁי וְחַיַּי לִשְׁאוֹל הִגִּיעוּ׃

Ki sav'a vera'ot nafshi, vechayai lish'ol higi'u.

For I am sated with misfortune; I am at the brink of Sheol.

נֶחְשַׁבְתִּי עִם־יוֹרְדֵי בוֹר הָיִיתִי כְּגֶבֶר אֵין־אֱיָל׃

Nechshavti im yordei vor, hayiti kegever ein eyal.

I am reckoned among those who go down to the Pit; I am like a man without strength.

בַּמֵּתִים חָפְשִׁי כְּמוֹ חֲלָלִים שֹׁכְבֵי קֶבֶר אֲשֶׁר לֹא זְכַרְתָּם עוֹד וְהֵמָּה מִיָּדְךָ נִגְזָרוּ׃

Bametim chofshi, kemo chalalim shochvei kever, asher lo zechartam od, vehema miyadcha nigzaru.

I am abandoned among the dead, like bodies lying in the grave of whom You are mindful no more, and who are cut off from Your care.

שַׁתַּנִי בְּבוֹר תַּחְתִּיּוֹת בְּמַחֲשַׁכִּים בִּמְצֹלוֹת׃

Shatani bevor tachtiyot, bemachashachim bimetzolot.

You have put me at the bottom of the Pit, in the darkest places, in the depths.

עָלַי סָמְכָה חֲמָתֶךָ וְכָל־מִשְׁבָּרֶיךָ עִנִּיתָ סֶּלָה׃

Alai samcha chamatecha, vechol mishbarecha inita sela.

Your fury lies heavy upon me; You afflict me with all Your breakers. Selah.

הִרְחַקְתָּ מְיֻדָּעַי מִמֶּנִּי שַׁתַּנִי תוֹעֵבוֹת לָמוֹ כָּלֻא וְלֹא אֵצֵא׃

Hirchakta meyuda'ai mimeni, shatani to'evot lamo, kalu velo etze.

You make my companions shun me; You make me abhorrent to them; I am shut in and cannot go out.

עֵינִי דָאֲבָה מִנִּי עֹנִי קְרָאתִיךָ יְהוָה בְּכָל־יוֹם שִׁטַּחְתִּי אֵלֶיךָ כַפָּי׃

Eini da'ava mini oni, keraticha Adonai bechol yom, shitachti elecha chapai.

My eyes pine away from affliction; I call to You, O LORD, each day; I stretch out my hands to You.

הֲלַמֵּתִים תַּעֲשֶׂה־פֶּלֶא אִם־רְפָאִים יָקוּמוּ יוֹדוּךָ סֶּלָה׃

Halametim ta'ase pele, im refa'im yakumu yoducha sela.

Do You work wonders for the dead? Do the shades rise to praise You? Selah.

הַיְסֻפַּר בַּקֶּבֶר חַסְדֶּךָ אֱמוּנָתְךָ בָּאֲבַדּוֹן׃

Hayesupar bakever chasdecha, emunatcha ba'avadon.

Is Your steadfast love recounted in the grave, Your faithfulness in Abaddon?

הֲיִוָּדַע בַּחֹשֶׁךְ פִּלְאֶךָ וְצִדְקָתְךָ בְּאֶרֶץ נְשִׁיָּה׃

Hayivada bachoshech pil'echa, vetzidkatcha be'eretz neshiya.

Are Your wonders made known in the netherworld, Your righteousness in the land of oblivion?

וַאֲנִי אֵלֶיךָ יְהוָה שִׁוַּעְתִּי וּבַבֹּקֶר תְּפִלָּתִי תְקַדְּמֶךָּ׃

Va'ani elecha Adonai shiva'ti, uvaboker tefilati tekadmeka.

As for me, I cry out to You, O LORD; each morning my prayer comes before You.

לָמָה יְהוָה תִּזְנַח נַפְשִׁי תַּסְתִּיר פָּנֶיךָ מִמֶּנִּי׃

Lama Adonai tiznach nafshi, tastir panecha mimeni.

Why, O LORD, do You reject me, do You hide Your face from me?

עָנִי אֲנִי וְגֹוֵעַ מִנֹּעַר נָשָׂאתִי אֵמֶיךָ אָפוּנָה׃

Ani ani vegove'a mino'ar, nasati emecha afuna.

From my youth I have been afflicted and near death; I suffer Your terrors, I am desperate.

עָלַי עָבְרוּ חֲרוֹנֶיךָ בִּעוּתֶיךָ צִמְּתוּתֻנִי׃

Alai avru charonecha, bi'utecha tzimetutuni.

Your fury overwhelms me; Your terrors destroy me.

סַבּוּנִי כַמַּיִם כָּל־הַיּוֹם הִקִּיפוּ עָלַי יָחַד׃

Sabuni chamayim kol hayom, hikifu alai yachad.

They swirl about me like water all day long; they encircle me on every side.

הִרְחַקְתָּ מִמֶּנִּי אֹהֵב וָרֵעַ מְיֻדָּעַי מַחְשָׁךְ׃

Hirchakta mimeni ohev vare'a, meyuda'ai machshach.

You have removed my friend and neighbor far from me; my companions are in darkness.
