תהילים פרק ס״ד

לַמְנַצֵּחַ מִזְמוֹר לְדָוִד׃

Lamnatzei'ach mizmor leDavid.

For the leader. A psalm of David.

שְׁמַע־אֱלֹהִים קוֹלִי בְשִׂיחִי מִפַּחַד אוֹיֵב תִּצֹּר חַיָּי׃

Shema Elohim koli vesichi, mipachad oyev titzor chayai.

Hear my voice, O God, when I plead; guard my life from the enemy's terror.

תַּסְתִּירֵנִי מִסּוֹד מְרֵעִים מֵרִגְשַׁת פֹּעֲלֵי אָוֶן׃

Tastireni misod mere'im, merigsat po'alei aven.

Hide me from a band of evil men, from a crowd of evildoers,

אֲשֶׁר שָׁנְנוּ כַחֶרֶב לְשׁוֹנָם דָּרְכוּ חִצָּם דָּבָר מָר׃

Asher shannu kacherev leshonam, darchu chitzam davar mar.

who whet their tongues like swords; they aim their arrows—Loss bitter words—

לִירוֹת בַּמִּסְתָּרִים תָּם פִּתְאֹם יֹרֻהוּ וְלֹא יִירָאוּ׃

Lirot bammistarim tam, pit'om yoruhu velo yira'u.

to shoot from hiding at the blameless man; they shoot him suddenly and without fear.

יְחַזְּקוּ־לָמוֹ דָּבָר רָע יְסַפְּרוּ לִטְמוֹן מוֹקְשִׁים אָמְרוּ מִי יִרְאֶה־לָּמוֹ׃

Yechazeku lamo davar ra, yesapru litmon mokshim, amru mi yir'e lamo.

They arm themselves with an evil word; when they speak, it is to plan traps; they think, "Who will see them?"

יַחְפְּשׂוּ־עוֹלֹת תַּמְנוּ חֵפֶשׂ מְחֻפָּשׂ וְקֶרֶב אִישׁ וְלֵב עָמֹק׃

Yachpesu olot tamnu chefes mechupas, vekerev ish velev amok.

Let the wrongdoings they have concealed, each one inside him, in his deep heart, be investigated.

וַיֹּרֵם אֱלֹהִים חֵץ פִּתְאוֹם הָיוּ מַכּוֹתָם׃

Vayorem Elohim chetz pit'om hayu makotam.

God shall shoot them with an arrow; suddenly they shall be struck.

וַיַּכְשִׁילוּהוּ עָלֵימוֹ לְשׁוֹנָם יִתְנֹדְדוּ כָּל־רֹאֵה בָם׃

Vayachshiluhu aleimo leshonam, yitnodedu kol ro'e vam.

Their own tongues shall ruin them; all who see them shall flee.

וְיִירְאוּ כָּל־אָדָם וַיַּגִּידוּ פֹּעַל אֱלֹהִים וּמַעֲשֵׂהוּ הִשְׂכִּילוּ׃

Veyir'u kol adam vayagidu po'al Elohim, uma'asehu hiskilu.

Then all men shall fear; they shall tell of God's work and ponder what He has done.

יִשְׂמַח צַדִּיק בַּיהוָה וְחָסָה בוֹ וְיִתְהַלְלוּ כָּל־יִשְׁרֵי־לֵב׃

Yismach tzadik baAdonai vechasa vo, veyithalelu kol yishrei lev.

The righteous shall rejoice in the LORD and take refuge in Him; all the upright shall exult.
