תהילים פרק קי״ט

אַשְׁרֵי תְמִימֵי־דָרֶךְ הַהֹלְכִים בְּתוֹרַת יְהוָה׃

Ashrei temimei darech, hahol'chim betorat Adonai.

Happy are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the Torah of the LORD.

אַשְׁרֵי נֹצְרֵי עֵדֹתָיו בְּכָל־לֵב יִדְרְשׁוּהוּ׃

Ashrei notzrei edotav, bechol lev yidreshuhu.

Happy are those who keep His decrees, who seek Him with all their heart.

אַף לֹא־פָעֲלוּ עַוְלָה בִּדְרָכָיו הָלָכוּ׃

Af lo fa'alu avla, bidrachav halachu.

They do no wrong; they walk in His ways.

אַתָּה צִוִּיתָה פִקֻּדֶיךָ לִשְׁמֹר מְאֹד׃

Ata tzivita fikudecha lishmor me'od.

You have commanded Your precepts to be kept diligently.

אַחֲלַי יִכֹּנוּ דְרָכָי לִשְׁמֹר חֻקֶּיךָ׃

Achalai yikonu derachai lishmor chukecha.

O that my ways may be steadfast in keeping Your statutes!

אָז לֹא־אֵבוֹשׁ בְּהַבִּיטִי אֶל־כָּל־מִצְוֺתֶיךָ׃

Az lo evosh behabiti el kol mitzvotecha.

Then I shall not be put to shame, having my eyes fixed on all Your commandments.

אוֹדְךָ בְּיֹשֶׁר לֵבָב בְּלָמְדִי מִשְׁפְּטֵי צִדְקֶךָ׃

Odecha beyosher levav, belamdi mishpetei tzidkecha.

I will praise You with an upright heart, when I learn Your righteous ordinances.

אֶת־חֻקֶּיךָ אֶשְׁמֹר אַל־תַּעַזְבֵנִי עַד־מְאֹד׃

Et chukecha eshmor, al ta'azveni ad me'od.

I will keep Your statutes; do not utterly forsake me.

בַּמֶּה יְזַכֶּה־נַּעַר אֶת־אָרְחוֹ לִשְׁמֹר כִּדְבָרֶךָ׃

Bame yezake na'ar et orcho, lishmor kidvarecha.

How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to Your word.

בְּכָל־לִבִּי דְרַשְׁתִּיךָ אַל־תַּשְׁגֵּנִי מִמִּצְוֺתֶיךָ׃

Bechol libi derashtich, al tashgeni mimitzvotecha.

With all my heart I seek You; let me not stray from Your commandments.

בְּלִבִּי צָפַנְתִּי אִמְרָתֶךָ לְמַעַן לֹא אֶחֱטָא־לָךְ׃

Belibi tzafanti imratecha, lema'an lo echeta lach.

I have treasured Your word in my heart, that I might not sin against You.

בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה יְהוָה לַמְּדֵנִי חֻקֶּיךָ׃

Baruch ata Adonai, lamedeni chukecha.

Blessed are You, O LORD; teach me Your statutes.

בִּשְׂפָתַי סִפַּרְתִּי כֹּל מִשְׁפְּטֵי־פִיךָ׃

Bisfatai siparti kol mishpetei ficha.

With my lips I declare all the ordinances of Your mouth.

בְּדֶרֶךְ עֵדְוֺתֶיךָ שַׂשְׂתִּי כְּעַל כָּל־הוֹן׃

Bederech edvotecha sasti ke'al kol hon.

In the way of Your decrees I rejoice as much as in all riches.

בְּפִקֻּדֶיךָ אָשִׂיחָה וְאַבִּיטָה אֹרְחֹתֶיךָ׃

Befikudecha asicha, ve'abita orchotecha.

I will meditate on Your precepts and fix my eyes on Your ways.

בְּחֻקֹּתֶיךָ אֶשְׁתַּעֲשָׁע לֹא אֶשְׁכַּח דְּבָרֶךָ׃

Bechukotecha eshta'asha, lo eshkach devarecha.

I will delight in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word.

גְּמֹל עַל־עַבְדְּךָ אֶחְיֶה וְאֶשְׁמְרָה דְבָרֶךָ׃

Gemol al avdecha echye, ve'eshmera devarecha.

Deal bountifully with Your servant, that I may live and keep Your word.

גַּל־עֵינַי וְאַבִּיטָה נִפְלָאוֹת מִתּוֹרָתֶךָ׃

Gal einai ve'abita nifla'ot mitoratecha.

Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of Your Torah.

גֵּר אָנֹכִי בָאָרֶץ אַל־תַּסְתֵּר מִמֶּנִּי מִצְוֺתֶיךָ׃

Ger anochi va'aretz, al taster mimeni mitzvotecha.

I am a stranger on earth; do not hide Your commandments from me.

גָּרְסָה נַפְשִׁי לְתַאֲבָה אֶל־מִשְׁפָּטֶיךָ בְכָל־עֵת׃

Garsa nafshi leta'ava el mishpatecha bechol et.

My soul is consumed with longing for Your ordinances at all times.

גָּעַרְתָּ זֵדִים אֲרוּרִים הַשֹּׁגִים מִמִּצְוֺתֶיךָ׃

Ga'arta zedim arurim, hashogim mimitzvotecha.

You rebuke the arrogant, the accursed, who stray from Your commandments.

גַּל מֵעָלַי חֶרְפָּה וָבוּז כִּי עֵדֹתֶיךָ נָצָרְתִּי׃

Gal me'alai cherpa vavuz, ki edotecha natzarti.

Take away from me scorn and contempt, for I have kept Your decrees.

גַּם יָשְׁבוּ שָׂרִים בִּי נִדְבָּרוּ עַבְדְּךָ יָשִׂיחַ בְּחֻקֶּיךָ׃

Gam yashvu sarim bi nidabaru, avdecha yasi'ach bechukecha.

Even though princes sit plotting against me, Your servant will meditate on Your statutes.

גַּם־עֵדֹתֶיךָ שַׁעֲשֻׁעָי אַנְשֵׁי עֲצָתִי׃

Gam edotecha sha'ashu'ai, anshei atzati.

Your decrees are my delight; they are my counselors.

דָּבְקָה לֶעָפָר נַפְשִׁי חַיֵּנִי כִּדְבָרֶךָ׃

Davka le'afar nafshi, chayeni chidvarecha.

My soul clings to the dust; revive me according to Your word.

דְּרָכַי סִפַּרְתִּי וַתַּעֲנֵנִי לַמְּדֵנִי חֻקֶּיךָ׃

Derachai siparti vata'aneni, lamedeni chukecha.

I told of my ways, and You answered me; teach me Your statutes.

דֶּרֶךְ־פִּקּוּדֶיךָ הֲבִינֵנִי וְאָשִׂיחָה בְּנִפְלְאוֹתֶיךָ׃

Derech pikudecha havineni, ve'asicha benifle'otecha.

Make me understand the way of Your precepts, and I will meditate on Your wondrous works.

דָּלְפָה נַפְשִׁי מִתּוּגָה קַיְּמֵנִי כִּדְבָרֶךָ׃

Dalfa nafshi mituga, kaymeni chidvarecha.

My soul melts away for sorrow; strengthen me according to Your word.

דֶּרֶךְ־שֶׁקֶר הָסֵר מִמֶּנִּי וְתוֹרָתְךָ חָנֵּנִי׃

Derech sheker haser mimeni, vetoratcha chaneni.

Put false ways far from me, and graciously teach me Your Torah.

דֶּרֶךְ־אֱמוּנָה בָחָרְתִּי מִשְׁפָּטֶיךָ שִׁוִּיתִי׃

Derech emuna bacharti, mishpatecha shiviti.

I have chosen the way of faithfulness; I set Your ordinances before me.

דָּבַקְתִּי בְעֵדְוֺתֶיךָ יְהוָה אַל־תְּבִישֵׁנִי׃

Davakti ve'edvotecha Adonai, al tevisheni.

I cling to Your decrees, O LORD; let me not be put to shame.

דֶּרֶךְ־מִצְוֺתֶיךָ אָרוּץ כִּי תַרְחִיב לִבִּי׃

Derech mitzvotecha arutz, ki tarchiv libi.

I will run the way of Your commandments, for You enlarge my heart.

הוֹרֵנִי יְהוָה דֶּרֶךְ חֻקֶּיךָ וְאֶצְּרֶנָּה עֵקֶב׃

Horeni Adonai derech chukecha, ve'etzrena ekev.

Teach me, O LORD, the way of Your statutes, and I will keep it to the end.

הֲבִינֵנִי וְאֶצְּרָה תוֹרָתֶךָ וְאֶשְׁמְרֶנָּה בְכָל־לֵב׃

Havineni ve'etzra toratecha, ve'eshmerena bechol lev.

Give me understanding, that I may keep Your Torah and observe it with my whole heart.

הַדְרִיכֵנִי בִּנְתִיב מִצְוֺתֶיךָ כִּי־בוֹ חָפָצְתִּי׃

Hadricheni bintiv mitzvotecha, ki vo chafatzti.

Lead me in the path of Your commandments, for I delight in it.

הַט־לִבִּי אֶל־עֵדְוֺתֶיךָ וְאַל אֶל־בָּצַע׃

Hat libi el edvotecha, ve'al el batza.

Incline my heart to Your decrees, and not to selfish gain.

הַעֲבֵר עֵינַי מֵרְאוֹת שָׁוְא בִּדְרָכֶךָ חַיֵּנִי׃

Ha'aver einai mere'ot shav, bidrachecha chayeni.

Turn my eyes from looking at vanities; give me life in Your ways.

הָקֵם לְעַבְדְּךָ אִמְרָתֶךָ אֲשֶׁר לְיִרְאָתֶךָ׃

Hakem le'avdecha imratecha, asher leyir'atecha.

Confirm to Your servant Your promise, which is for those who fear You.

הַעֲבֵר חֶרְפָּתִי אֲשֶׁר יָגֹרְתִּי כִּי מִשְׁפָּטֶיךָ טוֹבִים׃

Ha'aver cherpati asher yagorti, ki mishpatecha tovim.

Turn away the reproach that I dread, for Your ordinances are good.

הִנֵּה תָּאַבְתִּי לְפִקֻּדֶיךָ בְּצִדְקָתְךָ חַיֵּנִי׃

Hineh ta'avti lefikudecha, betzidkatcha chayeni.

Behold, I long for Your precepts; in Your righteousness give me life.

וִיבֹאֻנִי חֲסָדֶךָ יְהוָה תְּשׁוּעָתְךָ כְּאִמְרָתֶךָ׃

Vivo'uni chasadecha Adonai, teshu'atcha ke'imratecha.

Let Your steadfast love come to me, O LORD, Your salvation according to Your promise.

וְאֶעֱנֶה חֹרְפִי דָבָר כִּי־בָטַחְתִּי בִּדְבָרֶךָ׃

Ve'e'ene chorfi davar, ki vatachti bidvarecha.

Then I shall have an answer for those who taunt me, for I trust in Your word.

וְאַל־תַּצֵּל מִפִּי דְבַר־אֱמֶת עַד־מְאֹד כִּי לְמִשְׁפָּטֶךָ יִחָלְתִּי׃

Ve'al tatzel mipi devar emet ad me'od, ki lemishpatecha yichalti.

Do not take the word of truth utterly out of my mouth, for my hope is in Your ordinances.

וְאֶשְׁמְרָה תוֹרָתְךָ תָמִיד לְעוֹלָם וָעֶד׃

Ve'eshmera toratcha tamid, le'olam va'ed.

I will keep Your Torah continually, forever and ever.

וְאֶתְהַלְּכָה בָרְחָבָה כִּי פִקֻּדֶיךָ דָרָשְׁתִּי׃

Ve'ethalcha varchava, ki fikudecha darashti.

I shall walk in freedom, for I have sought Your precepts.

וַאֲדַבְּרָה בְעֵדֹתֶיךָ נֶגֶד מְלָכִים וְלֹא אֵבוֹשׁ׃

Va'adabra ve'edotecha neged melachim, velo evosh.

I will speak of Your decrees before kings, and shall not be put to shame.

וְאֶשְׁתַּעֲשַׁע בְּמִצְוֺתֶיךָ אֲשֶׁר אָהָבְתִּי׃

Ve'eshta'asha bemitzvotecha, asher ahavti.

I will delight in Your commandments, which I love.

וְאֶשָּׂא־כַפַּי אֶל־מִצְוֺתֶיךָ אֲשֶׁר אָהָבְתִּי וְאָשִׂיחָה בְחֻקֶּיךָ׃

Ve'esa chapai el mitzvotecha asher ahavti, ve'asicha bechukecha.

I lift up my hands toward Your commandments, which I love, and I will meditate on Your statutes.

זְכֹר־דָּבָר לְעַבְדֶּךָ עַל אֲשֶׁר יִחַלְתָּנִי׃

Zechor davar le'avdecha, al asher yichaltani.

Remember Your word to Your servant, in which You have made me hope.

זֹאת נֶחָמָתִי בְעָנְיִי כִּי אִמְרָתְךָ חִיָּתְנִי׃

Zot nechamati ve'onyi, ki imratcha chiyatni.

This is my comfort in my affliction, that Your promise gives me life.

זֵדִים הֱלִיצֻנִי עַד־מְאֹד מִתּוֹרָתְךָ לֹא נָטִיתִי׃

Zedim helitzuni ad me'od, mitoratcha lo natiti.

The arrogant utterly deride me, but I do not turn away from Your Torah.

זָכַרְתִּי מִשְׁפָּטֶיךָ מֵעוֹלָם יְהוָה וָאֶתְנֶחָם׃

Zacharti mishpatecha me'olam Adonai, va'etnecham.

When I think of Your ordinances from of old, I take comfort, O LORD.

זַלְעָפָה אֲחָזַתְנִי מֵרְשָׁעִים עֹזְבֵי תּוֹרָתֶךָ׃

Zal'afa achazatni meresh'im, ozvei toratecha.

Hot indignation seizes me because of the wicked, who forsake Your Torah.

זְמִרוֹת הָיוּ־לִי חֻקֶּיךָ בְּבֵית מְגוּרָי׃

Zemirot hayu li chukecha, beveit megurai.

Your statutes have been my songs in the house of my sojourning.

זָכַרְתִּי בַלַּיְלָה שִׁמְךָ יְהוָה וָאֶשְׁמְרָה תּוֹרָתֶךָ׃

Zacharti valayla shimcha Adonai, va'eshmera toratecha.

I remember Your name in the night, O LORD, and keep Your Torah.

זֹאת הָיְתָה־לִּי כִּי פִקֻּדֶיךָ נָצָרְתִּי׃

Zot hayeta li, ki fikudecha natzarti.

This has been my blessing, that I have kept Your precepts.

חֶלְקִי יְהוָה אָמַרְתִּי לִשְׁמֹר דְּבָרֶיךָ׃

Chelki Adonai amarti, lishmor devarecha.

The LORD is my portion; I promise to keep Your words.

חִלִּיתִי פָנֶיךָ בְכָל־לֵב חָנֵּנִי כְּאִמְרָתֶךָ׃

Chiliti fanecha bechol lev, chaneni ke'imratecha.

I entreat Your favor with all my heart; be gracious to me according to Your promise.

חִשַּׁבְתִּי דְרָכָי וָאָשִׁיבָה רַגְלַי אֶל־עֵדֹתֶיךָ׃

Chishavti derachai, va'ashiva raglai el edotecha.

When I think of my ways, I turn my feet to Your decrees.

חַשְׁתִּי וְלֹא הִתְמַהְמָהְתִּי לִשְׁמֹר מִצְוֺתֶיךָ׃

Chashti velo hitmahmahti, lishmor mitzvotecha.

I hurry and do not delay to keep Your commandments.

חֶבְלֵי רְשָׁעִים עִוְּדֻנִי תּוֹרָתְךָ לֹא שָׁכָחְתִּי׃

Chevlei resha'im ivduni, toratcha lo shachachti.

Though the cords of the wicked ensnare me, I do not forget Your Torah.

חֲצוֹת־לַיְלָה אָקוּם לְהוֹדוֹת לָךְ עַל מִשְׁפְּטֵי צִדְקֶךָ׃

Chatzot layla akum lehodot lach, al mishpetei tzidkecha.

At midnight I rise to praise You for Your righteous ordinances.

חָבֵר אָנִי לְכָל־אֲשֶׁר יְרֵאוּךָ וּלְשֹׁמְרֵי פִּקּוּדֶיךָ׃

Chaver ani lechol asher yere'ucha, uleshomrei fikudecha.

I am a companion of all who fear You, of those who keep Your precepts.

חַסְדְּךָ יְהוָה מָלְאָה הָאָרֶץ חֻקֶּיךָ לַמְּדֵנִי׃

Chasdecha Adonai male'a ha'aretz, chukecha lamedeni.

The earth, O LORD, is full of Your steadfast love; teach me Your statutes.

טוֹב עָשִׂיתָ עִם־עַבְדְּךָ יְהוָה כִּדְבָרֶךָ׃

Tov asita im avdecha Adonai, kidvarecha.

You have dealt well with Your servant, O LORD, according to Your word.

טוּב טַעַם וָדַעַת לַמְּדֵנִי כִּי בְמִצְוֺתֶיךָ הֶאֱמָנְתִּי׃

Tuv ta'am vada'at lamedeni, ki vemitzvotecha he'emanti.

Teach me good judgment and knowledge, for I believe in Your commandments.

טֶרֶם אֶעֱנֶה אֲנִי שֹׁגֵג וְעַתָּה אִמְרָתְךָ שָׁמָרְתִּי׃

Terem e'ene ani shogeg, ve'ata imratcha shamarti.

Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep Your word.

טוֹב־אַתָּה וּמֵטִיב לַמְּדֵנִי חֻקֶּיךָ׃

Tov ata umetiv, lamedeni chukecha.

You are good and do good; teach me Your statutes.

טָפְלוּ עָלַי שֶׁקֶר זֵדִים אֲנִי בְּכָל־לֵב אֶצֹּר פִּקּוּדֶיךָ׃

Taflu alai sheker zedim, ani bechol lev etzor fikudecha.

The arrogant smear me with lies, but with my whole heart I keep Your precepts.

טָפַשׁ כַּחֵלֶב לִבָּם אֲנִי תּוֹרָתְךָ שִׁעֲשָׁעְתִּי׃

Tafash kachelev libam, ani toratcha shi'asha'ti.

Their heart is gross like fat, but I delight in Your Torah.

טוֹב־לִי כִי־עֻנֵּיתִי לְמַעַן אֶלְמַד חֻקֶּיךָ׃

Tov li ki uneti, lema'an elmad chukecha.

It is good for me that I was afflicted, that I might learn Your statutes.

טוֹב־לִי תוֹרַת־פִּיךָ מֵאַלְפֵי זָהָב וָכָסֶף׃

Tov li torat picha, me'alfei zahav vachesef.

The Torah of Your mouth is better to me than thousands of gold and silver pieces.

יָדֶיךָ עָשׂוּנִי וַיְכוֹנְנוּנִי הֲבִינֵנִי וְאֶלְמְדָה מִצְוֺתֶיךָ׃

Yadecha asuni vayechonenuni, havineni ve'elmeda mitzvotecha.

Your hands have made and fashioned me; give me understanding that I may learn Your commandments.

יְרֵאֶיךָ יִרְאוּנִי וְיִשְׂמָחוּ כִּי לִדְבָרְךָ יִחָלְתִּי׃

Yere'echa yir'uni veyismachu, ki lidvarcha yichalti.

Those who fear You shall see me and rejoice, because I have hoped in Your word.

יָדַעְתִּי יְהוָה כִּי־צֶדֶק מִשְׁפָּטֶיךָ וֶאֱמוּנָה עִנִּיתָנִי׃

Yadati Adonai ki tzedek mishpatecha, ve'emuna initani.

I know, O LORD, that Your ordinances are righteous, and that in faithfulness You have afflicted me.

יְהִי־נָא חַסְדְּךָ לְנַחֲמֵנִי כְּאִמְרָתְךָ לְעַבְדֶּךָ׃

Yehi na chasdecha lenachameni, ke'imratcha le'avdecha.

Let Your steadfast love comfort me according to Your promise to Your servant.

יְבֹאוּנִי רַחֲמֶיךָ וְאֶחְיֶה כִּי־תוֹרָתְךָ שַׁעֲשֻׁעָי׃

Yevo'uni rachamecha ve'echye, ki toratcha sha'ashu'ai.

Let Your compassion come to me, that I may live; for Your Torah is my delight.

יֵבֹשׁוּ זֵדִים כִּי־שֶׁקֶר עִוְּתוּנִי אֲנִי אָשִׂיחַ בְּפִקּוּדֶיךָ׃

Yevoshu zedim ki sheker ivtuni, ani asi'ach befikudecha.

Let the arrogant be put to shame, for they have wronged me with falsehood; I will meditate on Your precepts.

יָשׁוּבוּ לִי יְרֵאֶיךָ וְיֹדְעֵי עֵדֹתֶיךָ׃

Yashuvu li yere'echa, veyod'ei edotecha.

Let those who fear You turn to me, that they may know Your decrees.

יְהִי־לִבִּי תָמִים בְּחֻקֶּיךָ לְמַעַן לֹא אֵבוֹשׁ׃

Yehi libi tamim bechukecha, lema'an lo evosh.

May my heart be blameless in Your statutes, that I may not be put to shame.

כָּלְתָה לִתְשׁוּעָתְךָ נַפְשִׁי לִדְבָרְךָ יִחָלְתִּי׃

Kalta liteshu'atcha nafshi, lidvarcha yichalti.

My soul languishes for Your salvation; I hope in Your word.

כָּלוּ עֵינַי לְאִמְרָתֶךָ לֵאמֹר מָתַי תְּנַחֲמֵנִי׃

Kalu einai le'imratecha, lemor matai tenachameni.

My eyes fail with watching for Your promise; I ask, 'When will You comfort me?'

כִּי־הָיִיתִי כְּנֹאד בְּקִיטוֹר חֻקֶּיךָ לֹא שָׁכָחְתִּי׃

Ki hayiti keno'd bekitor, chukecha lo shachachti.

For I have become like a wineskin in the smoke, yet I have not forgotten Your statutes.

כַּמָּה יְמֵי־עַבְדֶּךָ מָתַי תַּעֲשֶׂה בְרֹדְפַי מִשְׁפָּט׃

Kama yemei avdecha, matai ta'aseh verodfai mishpat.

How many are the days of Your servant? When will You judge those who persecute me?

כָּרוּ־לִי זֵדִים שִׁיחוֹת אֲשֶׁר לֹא כְתוֹרָתֶךָ׃

Karu li zedim shichot, asher lo chetoratecha.

The arrogant have dug pits for me, men who do not conform to Your Torah.

כָּל־מִצְוֺתֶיךָ אֱמוּנָה שֶׁקֶר רְדָפוּנִי עָזְרֵנִי׃

Kol mitzvotecha emuna, sheker redafuni azreni.

All Your commandments are faithful; they persecute me with falsehood; help me!

כִּמְעַט כִּלּוּנִי בָאָרֶץ וַאֲנִי לֹא־עָזַבְתִּי פִקֻּדֶיךָ׃

Kim'at kiluni va'aretz, va'ani lo azavti fikudecha.

They have almost made an end of me on earth, but I have not forsaken Your precepts.

כְּחַסְדְּךָ חַיֵּנִי וְאֶשְׁמְרָה עֵדוּת פִּיךָ׃

Kechasdecha chayeni, ve'eshmera edut picha.

In Your steadfast love give me life, that I may keep the decrees of Your mouth.

לְעוֹלָם יְהוָה דְּבָרְךָ נִצָּב בַּשָּׁמָיִם׃

Le'olam Adonai, devarcha nitzav bashamayim.

Forever, O LORD, Your word stands firm in the heavens.

לְדֹר וָדֹר אֱמוּנָתֶךָ כּוֹנַנְתָּ אֶרֶץ וַתַּעֲמֹד׃

Ledor vador emunatecha, konanta eretz vata'amod.

Your faithfulness endures to all generations; You have established the earth, and it stands.

לְמִשְׁפָּטֶיךָ עָמְדוּ הַיּוֹם כִּי הַכֹּל עֲבָדֶיךָ׃

Lemishpatecha amdu hayom, ki hakol avadecha.

By Your ordinances they stand this day, for all things are Your servants.

לוּלֵי תוֹרָתְךָ שַׁעֲשֻׁעָי אָז אָבַדְתִּי בְעָנְיִי׃

Lulei toratcha sha'ashu'ai, az avadti ve'onyi.

If Your Torah had not been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction.

לְעוֹלָם לֹא־אֶשְׁכַּח פִּקּוּדֶיךָ כִּי בָם חִיִּיתָנִי׃

Le'olam lo eshkach fikudecha, ki vam chiyitani.

I will never forget Your precepts, for by them You have given me life.

לְךָ־אֲנִי הוֹשִׁיעֵנִי כִּי פִקּוּדֶיךָ דָרָשְׁתִּי׃

Lecha ani hoshi'eni, ki fikudecha darashti.

I am Yours; save me, for I have sought Your precepts.

לִי קִוּוּ רְשָׁעִים לְאַבְּדֵנִי עֵדֹתֶיךָ אֶתְבּוֹנָן׃

Li kivu resha'im le'abdeni, edotecha etbonan.

The wicked lie in wait to destroy me, but I consider Your decrees.

לְכָל־תִּכְלָה רָאִיתִי קֵץ רְחָבָה מִצְוָתְךָ מְאֹד׃

Lechol tichla ra'iti ketz, rechava mitzvat'cha me'od.

I have seen a limit to all perfection, but Your commandment is exceedingly broad.

מָה־אָהַבְתִּי תוֹרָתֶךָ כָּל־הַיּוֹם הִיא שִׂיחָתִי׃

Ma ahavti toratecha, kol hayom hi sichati.

Oh how I love Your Torah! It is my meditation all day long.

מֵאֹיְבַי תְּחַכְּמֵנִי מִצְוֺתֶךָ כִּי לְעוֹלָם הִיא־לִי׃

Me'oyvai techakemeni mitzvotecha, ki le'olam hi li.

Your commandment makes me wiser than my enemies, for it is ever with me.

מִכָּל־מְלַמְּדַי הִשְׂכַּלְתִּי כִּי עֵדְוֺתֶיךָ שִׂיחָה לִי׃

Mikol melamdai hiskalti, ki edvotecha sicha li.

I have more understanding than all my teachers, for Your decrees are my meditation.

מִזְּקֵנִים אֶתְבּוֹנָן כִּי פִקּוּדֶיךָ נָצָרְתִּי׃

Mizekenim etbonan, ki fikudecha natzarti.

I understand more than the aged, for I keep Your precepts.

מִכָּל־אֹרַח רָע כָּלִאתִי רַגְלָי לְמַעַן אֶשְׁמֹר דְּבָרֶךָ׃

Mikol orach ra kali'ti raglai, lema'an eshmor devarecha.

I hold back my feet from every evil way, in order to keep Your word.

מִמִּשְׁפָּטֶיךָ לֹא־סָרְתִּי כִּי־אַתָּה הוֹרֵתָנִי׃

Mimishpatecha lo sarti, ki ata horetani.

I do not turn aside from Your ordinances, for You have taught me.

מַה־נִּמְלְצוּ לְחִכִּי אִמְרָתֶךָ מִדְּבַשׁ לְפִי׃

Ma nimletzu lechiki imratecha, midevash lefi.

How sweet are Your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!

מִפִּקּוּדֶיךָ אֶתְבּוֹנָן עַל־כֵּן שָׂנֵאתִי כָּל־אֹרַח שָׁקֶר׃

Mipikudecha etbonan, al ken saneti kol orach shaker.

Through Your precepts I get understanding; therefore I hate every false way.

נֵר־לְרַגְלִי דְבָרֶךָ וְאוֹר לִנְתִיבָתִי׃

Ner leragli devarecha, ve'or lintivati.

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

נִשְׁבַּעְתִּי וָאֲקַיֵּמָה לִשְׁמֹר מִשְׁפְּטֵי צִדְקֶךָ׃

Nishbati va'akayema, lishmor mishpetei tzidkecha.

I have sworn an oath and confirmed it, to observe Your righteous ordinances.

נַעֲנֵיתִי עַד־מְאֹד יְהוָה חַיֵּנִי כִדְבָרֶךָ׃

Na'aneti ad me'od Adonai, chayeni chidvarecha.

I am severely afflicted; give me life, O LORD, according to Your word.

נִדְבוֹת פִּי רְצֵה־נָא יְהוָה וּמִשְׁפָּטֶיךָ לַמְּדֵנִי׃

Nidvot pi retze na Adonai, umishpatecha lamedeni.

Accept my offerings of praise, O LORD, and teach me Your ordinances.

נַפְשִׁי בְכַפִּי תָמִיד וְתוֹרָתְךָ לֹא שָׁכָחְתִּי׃

Nafshi vechapi tamid, vetoratcha lo shachachti.

My life is in my hand continually, but I do not forget Your Torah.

נָתְנוּ רְשָׁעִים פַּח לִי וּמִפִּקּוּדֶיךָ לֹא תָעִיתִי׃

Natnu resha'im pach li, umipikudecha lo ta'iti.

The wicked have laid a snare for me, but I do not stray from Your precepts.

נָחַלְתִּי עֵדְוֺתֶיךָ לְעוֹלָם כִּי־שְׂשׂוֹן לִבִּי הֵמָּה׃

Nachalti edvotecha le'olam, ki seson libi hema.

Your decrees are my heritage forever; they are the joy of my heart.

נָטִיתִי לִבִּי לַעֲשׂוֹת חֻקֶּיךָ לְעוֹלָם עֵקֶב׃

Natiti libi la'asot chukecha le'olam ekev.

I incline my heart to perform Your statutes forever, to the end.

סֵעֲפִים שָׂנֵאתִי וְתוֹרָתְךָ אָהָבְתִּי׃

Se'afim saneti, vetoratcha ahavti.

I hate the double-minded, but I love Your Torah.

סִתְרִי וּמָגִנִּי אָתָּה לִדְבָרְךָ יִחָלְתִּי׃

Sitri umaginni ata, lidvarcha yichalti.

You are my hiding place and my shield; I hope in Your word.

סוּרוּ־מִמֶּנִּי מְרֵעִים וְאֶצְּרָה מִצְוֺת אֱלֹהָי׃

Suru mimeni mere'im, ve'etzra mitzvot Elohai.

Depart from me, you evildoers, that I may keep the commandments of my God.

סָמְכֵנִי כְאִמְרָתְךָ וְאֶחְיֶה וְאַל־תְּבִישֵׁנִי מִשִּׂבְרִי׃

Somcheni che'imratcha ve'echye, ve'al tevisheni misivri.

Uphold me according to Your promise, that I may live, and let me not be put to shame in my hope.

סְעָדֵנִי וְאִוָּשֵׁעָה וְאֶשְׁעָה בְחֻקֶּיךָ תָמִיד׃

Se'adeni ve'ivashea, ve'esh'a bechukecha tamid.

Hold me up, that I may be safe and have regard for Your statutes continually.

סָלִיתָ כָּל־שׁוֹגִים מֵחֻקֶּיךָ כִּי־שֶׁקֶר תַּרְמִיתָם׃

Salita kol shogim mechukecha, ki sheker tarmitam.

You reject all who stray from Your statutes, for their cunning is in vain.

סִגִים הִשְׁבַּתָּ כָל־רִשְׁעֵי־אֶרֶץ לָכֵן אָהַבְתִּי עֵדֹתֶיךָ׃

Sigim hishbata kol rish'ei aretz, lachen ahavti edotecha.

You remove all the wicked of the earth like dross; therefore I love Your decrees.

סָמַר מִפַּחְדְּךָ בְשָׂרִי וּמִמִּשְׁפָּטֶיךָ יָרֵאתִי׃

Samar mipachdecha vesari, umimishpatecha yareti.

My flesh trembles for fear of You, and I am afraid of Your judgments.

עָשִׂיתִי מִשְׁפָּט וָצֶדֶק בַּל־תַּנִּיחֵנִי לְעֹשְׁקָי׃

Asiti mishpat vatzedek, bal tanicheni le'oshkai.

I have done what is just and right; do not leave me to my oppressors.

עֲרֹב עַבְדְּךָ לְטוֹב אַל־יַעַשְׁקֻנִי זֵדִים׃

Arov avdecha letov, al ya'ashkuni zedim.

Be surety for Your servant for good; let not the arrogant oppress me.

עֵינַי כָּלוּ לִישׁוּעָתֶךָ וּלְאִמְרַת צִדְקֶךָ׃

Einai kalu lishu'atecha, ule'imrat tzidkecha.

My eyes fail with watching for Your salvation and for Your righteous promise.

עֲשֵׂה עִם־עַבְדְּךָ כְחַסְדֶּךָ וְחֻקֶּיךָ לַמְּדֵנִי׃

Ase im avdecha kechasdecha, vechukecha lamedeni.

Deal with Your servant according to Your steadfast love, and teach me Your statutes.

עַבְדְּךָ־אָנִי הֲבִינֵנִי וְאֵדְעָה עֵדֹתֶיךָ׃

Avdecha ani havineni, ve'ed'a edotecha.

I am Your servant; give me understanding, that I may know Your decrees.

עֵת לַעֲשׂוֹת לַיהוָה הֵפֵרוּ תּוֹרָתֶךָ׃

Et la'asot laAdonai, heferu toratecha.

It is time for the LORD to act, for they have broken Your Torah.

עַל־כֵּן אָהַבְתִּי מִצְוֺתֶיךָ מִזָּהָב וּמִפָּז׃

Al ken ahavti mitzvotecha, mizahav umipaz.

Therefore I love Your commandments above gold, above fine gold.

עַל־כֵּן כָּל־פִּקּוּדֵי כֹל יִשָּׁרְתִּי כָּל־אֹרַח שֶׁקֶר שָׂנֵאתִי׃

Al ken kol pikudei chol yisharti, kol orach sheker saneti.

Therefore I direct my steps by all Your precepts; I hate every false way.

פְּלָאוֹת עֵדְוֺתֶיךָ עַל־כֵּן נְצָרָתַם נַפְשִׁי׃

Pela'ot edvotecha, al ken netzaratam nafshi.

Your decrees are wonderful; therefore my soul keeps them.

פֵּתַח דְּבָרֶיךָ יָאִיר מֵבִין פְּתָאיִם׃

Petach devarecha ya'ir, mevin peta'im.

The unfolding of Your words gives light; it imparts understanding to the simple.

פִּי־פָעַרְתִּי וָאֶשְׁאָפָה כִּי לְמִצְוֺתֶיךָ יָאָבְתִּי׃

Pi fa'arti va'esh'afa, ki lemitzvotecha ya'avti.

I open my mouth and pant, because I long for Your commandments.

פְּנֵה־אֵלַי וְחָנֵּנִי כְּמִשְׁפָּט לְאֹהֲבֵי שְׁמֶךָ׃

Pene elai vechaneni, kemishpat le'ohavei shemecha.

Turn to me and be gracious to me, as is Your way with those who love Your name.

פְּעָמַי הָכֵן בְּאִמְרָתֶךָ וְאַל־תַּשְׁלֶט־בִּי כָל־אָוֶן׃

Pe'amai hachen be'imratecha, ve'al tashlet bi kol aven.

Keep my steps steady according to Your promise, and let no iniquity have dominion over me.

פְּדֵנִי מֵעֹשֶׁק אָדָם וְאֶשְׁמְרָה פִּקּוּדֶיךָ׃

Pedeni me'oshek adam, ve'eshmera fikudecha.

Redeem me from man's oppression, that I may keep Your precepts.

פָּנֶיךָ הָאֵר בְּעַבְדֶּךָ וְלַמְּדֵנִי אֶת־חֻקֶּיךָ׃

Panecha ha'er be'avdecha, velamedeni et chukecha.

Make Your face shine upon Your servant, and teach me Your statutes.

פַּלְגֵי־מַיִם יָרְדוּ עֵינָי עַל לֹא־שָׁמְרוּ תוֹרָתֶךָ׃

Palgei mayim yardu einai, al lo shamru toratecha.

My eyes shed streams of tears, because men do not keep Your Torah.

צַדִּיק אַתָּה יְהוָה וְיָשָׁר מִשְׁפָּטֶיךָ׃

Tzadik ata Adonai, veyashar mishpatecha.

Righteous are You, O LORD, and right are Your ordinances.

צִוִּיתָ צֶדֶק עֵדֹתֶיךָ וֶאֱמוּנָה מְאֹד׃

Tzivita tzedek edotecha, ve'emuna me'od.

You have appointed Your decrees in righteousness and in all faithfulness.

צִמְּתַתְנִי קִנְאָתִי כִּי־שָׁכְחוּ דְבָרֶיךָ צָרָי׃

Tzimtatni kin'ati, ki shachechu devarecha tzarai.

My zeal consumes me, because my foes forget Your words.

צְרוּפָה אִמְרָתְךָ מְאֹד וְעַבְדְּךָ אֲהֵבָהּ׃

Tzerufa imratcha me'od, ve'avdecha aheva.

Your promise is well tried, and Your servant loves it.

צָעִיר אָנֹכִי וְנִבְזֶה פִּקֻּדֶיךָ לֹא שָׁכָחְתִּי׃

Tza'ir anochi venivze, fikudecha lo shachachti.

I am small and despised, yet I do not forget Your precepts.

צִדְקָתְךָ צֶדֶק לְעוֹלָם וְתוֹרָתְךָ אֱמֶת׃

Tzidkatcha tzedek le'olam, vetoratcha emet.

Your righteousness is righteousness forever, and Your Torah is truth.

צַר־וּמָצוֹק מְצָאוּנִי מִצְוֺתֶיךָ שַׁעֲשֻׁעָי׃

Tzar umatzok metza'uni, mitzvotecha sha'ashu'ai.

Trouble and anguish have found me, but Your commandments are my delight.

צֶדֶק עֵדְוֺתֶיךָ לְעוֹלָם הֲבִינֵנִי וְאֶחְיֶה׃

Tzedek edvotecha le'olam, havineni ve'echye.

Your decrees are righteous forever; give me understanding that I may live.

קָרָאתִי בְכָל־לֵב עֲנֵנִי יְהוָה חֻקֶּיךָ אֶצֹּרָה׃

Karati bechol lev aneni Adonai, chukecha etzora.

With my whole heart I cry; answer me, O LORD. I will keep Your statutes.

קְרָאתִיךָ הוֹשִׁיעֵנִי וְאֶשְׁמְרָה עֵדֹתֶיךָ׃

Keraticha hoshi'eni, ve'eshmera edotecha.

I call upon You; save me, that I may observe Your decrees.

קִדַּמְתִּי בַנֶּשֶׁף וָאֲשַׁוֵּעָה לִדְבָרְךָ יִחָלְתִּי׃

Kidamti vaneshef va'ashave'a, lidvarcha yichalti.

I rise before dawn and cry for help; I hope in Your words.

קִדְּמוּ עֵינַי אַשְׁמֻרוֹת לָשִׂיחַ בְּאִמְרָתֶךָ׃

Kidmu einai ashmurot, lasi'ach be'imratecha.

My eyes are awake before the watches of the night, that I may meditate on Your promise.

קוֹלִי שִׁמְעָה כְחַסְדֶּךָ יְהוָה כְּמִשְׁפָּטֶךָ חַיֵּנִי׃

Koli shim'a kechasdecha Adonai, kemishpatecha chayeni.

Hear my voice according to Your steadfast love; O LORD, give me life according to Your justice.

קָרְבוּ רֹדְפֵי זִמָּה מִתּוֹרָתְךָ רָחָקוּ׃

Karvu rodfei zima, mitoratcha rachaku.

They draw near who persecute me with evil purpose; they are far from Your Torah.

קָרוֹב אַתָּה יְהוָה וְכָל־מִצְוֺתֶיךָ אֱמֶת׃

Karov ata Adonai, vechol mitzvotecha emet.

You are near, O LORD, and all Your commandments are true.

קֶדֶם יָדַעְתִּי מֵעֵדֹתֶיךָ כִּי לְעוֹלָם יְסַדְתָּם׃

Kedem yadati me'edotecha, ki le'olam yesadtam.

Long ago I learned from Your decrees that You have established them forever.

רְאֵה־עָנְיִי וְחַלְּצֵנִי כִּי־תוֹרָתְךָ לֹא שָׁכָחְתִּי׃

Re'e onyi vechaltzeni, ki toratcha lo shachachti.

Look on my affliction and deliver me, for I do not forget Your Torah.

רִיבָה רִיבִי וּגְאָלֵנִי לְאִמְרָתְךָ חַיֵּנִי׃

Riva rivi uge'aleni, le'imratcha chayeni.

Plead my cause and redeem me; give me life according to Your promise.

רָחוֹק מֵרְשָׁעִים יְשׁוּעָה כִּי־חֻקֶּיךָ לֹא דָרָשׁוּ׃

Rachok meresh'im yeshu'a, ki chukecha lo darashu.

Salvation is far from the wicked, for they do not seek Your statutes.

רַחֲמֶיךָ רַבִּים יְהוָה כְּמִשְׁפָּטֶיךָ חַיֵּנִי׃

Rachamecha rabim Adonai, kemishpatecha chayeni.

Great is Your mercy, O LORD; give me life according to Your ordinances.

רַבִּים רֹדְפַי וְצָרָי מֵעֵדְוֺתֶיךָ לֹא נָטִיתִי׃

Rabim rodfai vetzarai, me'edvotecha lo natiti.

Many are my persecutors and my adversaries, but I do not swerve from Your decrees.

רָאִיתִי בֹגְדִים וָאֶתְקוֹטָטָה אֲשֶׁר אִמְרָתְךָ לֹא שָׁמָרוּ׃

Ra'iti vogdim va'etkotata, asher imratcha lo shamaru.

I look at the faithless with disgust, because they do not keep Your commands.

רְאֵה כִּי־פִקּוּדֶיךָ אָהָבְתִּי יְהוָה כְּחַסְדְּךָ חַיֵּנִי׃

Re'e ki fikudecha ahavti Adonai, kechasdecha chayeni.

Consider how I love Your precepts; O LORD, give me life according to Your steadfast love.

רֹאשׁ־דְּבָרְךָ אֱמֶת וּלְעוֹלָם כָּל־מִשְׁפַּט צִדְקֶךָ׃

Rosh devarcha emet, ule'olam kol mishpat tzidkecha.

The sum of Your word is truth, and every one of Your righteous ordinances endures forever.

שָׂרִים רְדָפוּנִי חִנָּם וּמִדְּבָרְךָ פָּחַד לִבִּי׃

Sarim redafuni chinam, umidvarcha pachad libi.

Princes persecute me without cause, but my heart stands in awe of Your words.

שָׂשׂ אָנֹכִי עַל־אִמְרָתֶךָ כְּמוֹצֵא שָׁלָל רָב׃

Sas anochi al imratecha, kemotze shalal rav.

I rejoice at Your word like one who finds great spoil.

שֶׁקֶר שָׂנֵאתִי וַאֲתַעֵבָה תּוֹרָתְךָ אָהָבְתִּי׃

Sheker saneti va'ata'eva, toratcha ahavti.

I hate and abhor falsehood, but I love Your Torah.

שֶׁבַע בַּיּוֹם הִלַּלְתִּיךָ עַל מִשְׁפְּטֵי צִדְקֶךָ׃

Sheva bayom hilalticha, al mishpetei tzidkecha.

Seven times a day I praise You for Your righteous ordinances.

שָׁלוֹם רָב לְאֹהֲבֵי תוֹרָתֶךָ וְאֵין־לָמוֹ מִכְשׁוֹל׃

Shalom rav le'ohavei toratecha, ve'ein lamo michshol.

Great peace have those who love Your Torah; nothing can make them stumble.

שִׂבַּרְתִּי לִישׁוּעָתְךָ יְהוָה וּמִצְוֺתֶיךָ עָשִׂיתִי׃

Sivarti lishu'atcha Adonai, umitzvotecha asiti.

I hope for Your salvation, O LORD, and I do Your commandments.

שָׁמְרָה נַפְשִׁי עֵדֹתֶיךָ וָאֹהֲבֵם מְאֹד׃

Shamra nafshi edotecha, va'ohavem me'od.

My soul keeps Your decrees; I love them exceedingly.

שָׁמַרְתִּי פִקּוּדֶיךָ וְעֵדֹתֶיךָ כִּי כָל־דְּרָכַי נֶגְדֶּךָ׃

Shamarti fikudecha ve'edotecha, ki kol derachai negdecha.

I keep Your precepts and decrees, for all my ways are before You.

תִּקְרַב רִנָּתִי לְפָנֶיךָ יְהוָה כִּדְבָרְךָ הֲבִינֵנִי׃

Tikrav rinati lefanecha Adonai, kidvarcha havineni.

Let my cry come before You, O LORD; give me understanding according to Your word.

תָּבוֹא תְּחִנָּתִי לְפָנֶיךָ כְּאִמְרָתְךָ הַצִּילֵנִי׃

Tavo techinati lefanecha, ke'imratcha hatzileni.

Let my supplication come before You; deliver me according to Your word.

תַּבַּעְנָה שְׂפָתַי תְּהִלָּה כִּי תְלַמְּדֵנִי חֻקֶּיךָ׃

Taba'na sefatai tehila, ki telamedeni chukecha.

My lips will pour forth praise, for You teach me Your statutes.

תַּעַן לְשׁוֹנִי אִמְרָתֶךָ כִּי כָל־מִצְוֺתֶיךָ צֶדֶק׃

Ta'an leshoni imratecha, ki kol mitzvotecha tzedek.

My tongue will sing of Your word, for all Your commandments are righteous.

תְּהִי־יָדְךָ לְעָזְרֵנִי כִּי פִקּוּדֶיךָ בָחָרְתִּי׃

Tehi yadcha le'ozreni, ki fikudecha vacharti.

Let Your hand be ready to help me, for I have chosen Your precepts.

תָּאַבְתִּי לִישׁוּעָתְךָ יְהוָה וְתוֹרָתְךָ שַׁעֲשֻׁעָי׃

Ta'avti lishu'atcha Adonai, vetoratcha sha'ashu'ai.

I long for Your salvation, O LORD, and Your Torah is my delight.

תְּחִי־נַפְשִׁי וּתְהַלְלֶךָּ וּמִשְׁפָּטֶךָ יַעְזְרֻנִי׃

Techi nafshi utehalaleka, umishpatecha ya'azruni.

Let my soul live and praise You, and let Your ordinances help me.

תָּעִיתִי כְּשֶׂה אֹבֵד בַּקֵּשׁ עַבְדֶּךָ כִּי מִצְוֺתֶיךָ לֹא שָׁכָחְתִּי׃

Ta'iti keseh oved, bakesh avdecha ki mitzvotecha lo shachachti.

I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek Your servant, for I do not forget Your commandments.
